Lightweight, great features, but it breaks too easily

I really love the Motorola Elite Sliver II, but it has a fatal flaw - it breaks apart too easily at the top centerpoint. The original Motorola Elite Sliver I did not have this problem, and held up MUCH longer. Of course, I love the charging clamshell charging case, because it hold two full charges for the earpiece, but I find the newly-added USB connector on the earpiece to be useful, because I don't always want to carry around the charging case, so that's a nice plus. I also find the sound quality to be reasonably good. The volume range is great - it goes from very faint up to very loud, so I don't necessarily need to set the earpiece volume at maximum. A new feature on the Motorola Elite Sliver II is the adjustable length of the swivel arm on which the earbud is located. Good call! Now, Motorola would just solve that weak connection point...Read full review...

Got what I deserved

This is my 4th Elite, including the 1st gen that was my first. They're great compact headsets with great sound, but the join where the two pieces come together is a weak point, and I don't get more than a year out of them before they break. And that's OK; if durability was that important, I'd get something larger. But this time I tried to save money on a refurb and got fair value. Sound to the earpiece is fine, but outgoing sound over the mic is intermittently unacceptable, which is completely unacceptable. I can't use it for calls if I'll not be understood half the time. I've learned my lesson and will buy new in the future.Read full review...

Refurbished-Sliver 2

I’ve had this product before, new and it did very well. The weak spot is in the elbow of the unit. Mine did break and I super glued it back together and used it for another 8 months or so before it finally went bye-byes. (So you do have to be careful with it) It doesn’t help that you have to twist the lower arm in order to turn it on/off so it does add strain to the elbow.

I bought this refurbished one and I can only get just over 2 real hours of talk time, despite on full charge it says up to 4. My brand new one I had did give me 4 Hours.

It is clear. People hear me clearly, I hear them clearly so the quality is there. If you’re around a bunch of noise, it can be challenging to carry a conversation, but if you’re driving with the windows up as I do, conversations are perfect, no issues.

I like that there is no extended boom mic on the unit, like the Plantronics Voyager Legend, although that unit is an awesome unit as well, I enjoy something a bit smaller but because of the stress it puts on the elbow, it makes it less durable and you need to be ginger with this unit. I switch between the Voyager Legend and this because the noise cancelling is better on the Plantronics and if I’m on the field around a bunch of noise, the Legend does work better with its triple mic, but in less noisy environments or quiet office surroundings the Sliver is awesome.

Great concept but the only thing....

I really like this earpiece. Good talk time, very comfortable, and easy to set up. The only drawback is the quick wear and tear. Since you have to turn the piece quite a bit, it gets very weak and starts to break apart. If you can, keep it facing the same direction and charge from the bottom instead of the carry case. That will limit the twists/turns and prolong the lifespan. This would be the perfect headset if it wasn’t for this tidbit.Read full review...

Great ear bud

We have used this product for years. It's comfortable and works well with my Samsung phones. Only one problem is the twist and turn on and off switch. As with any moving part, it eventually gets weak and breaks. Read full review...

This is a wonderful Motorola product

It's very comfortable and never shakes loose even when I'm doing activities where most other ear pieces would go flying out of my ear. What I wanted most was a product that works with the "My Motospeak" app which allows totally handsfree control of the phone. I now only take my phone off my belt clip if I want to look something up or choose to use maps. I can send or receive texts or phone calls without physically touching my phone. For years I've loved those features on the Finiti, but it's no longer available. I'm so happy to have discovered the Sliver 2 and it's even better than I had hoped it would be.Read full review...

Still the best

I’ve tried many others but this is still the best. It has a carry/charging case you can put in your pocket. I wear glasses, no problem. You can make voice prompt calls ( if your phone supports it; Siri) answer hands free just say yes or no. If your in a really loud area you might have a little trouble hearing. Because I know these are not being made anymore but still moto support is available I bought two, both new. You can still buy different ear gels for it. User manual is downloadable from Motorola. I suggest doing that so you can use all the features built into it.Read full review...

It is the best it's that I ever used

Motorola is the best and still is the best after all these years it is the number one Bluetooth headset I ever bought better than Plantronics beats and the rest of them they have a there. It is easy to turn on and off no problem. just turn on and turn off. And it connected very very easy and it holds its charge for a long long time. But the discontinue this product I don't know why but it was very nice.Read full review...

Works well until it doesnot

The Sliver ii was a great sound and a great ear fit. Until allo of a sudden it would or could no longer connect with the phone after a very short time. I do not know if this is a product re(manufacture) defect or an inherent issue.

Because of the fit and sound, I would be willing to repurchase one. Because of the short life span, I could make myself poor if I kept doing it.

Best Motorola Blue Tooth so far

I've tried Oasis,Sliver, and now improved Sliver 2. The problem is if you're not very careful when you open ,close , and remove the unit it can break at the joint at the top of the arch. I have overcome this problem by enclosing the joint with a fast drying epoxy product to beef it up. Prior to doing that I had many failures.Read full review...
