Great modem

I did research and chose this modem because it is the best value in terms of style, technology and speed out of my options. Also, this modem does NOT have Wi-Fi (Wireless) capabilities so you must have a Wi-Fi enabled router for wireless and Ethernet connections which I do/did as well. For me, it was very easy to set up. Only thing that slowed me down was that I had to call my ISP to have them sync the modem and router once I connected them together via Ethernet cable. After having the modem for a few weeks I don't regret purchasing it. I do recommend purchasing a NEW not used modem. You will control all of your Wi-Fi security and settings through your router not through the modem. Does not make noise or get hot.Read full review...

Works okay for data, but has problems with sound when streaming from Amazon Prime.

This modem works well for data. But, I'm not too happy with its streaming capabilities with Amazon Prime. I'm using a Samsung DVD device that has streaming capabilities. After installing the new modem, I noticed that the sound was clearly inferior and could barely make out what was being said while the underlying music played. I didn't have this problem with my old DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem. I'm currently exploring sound options with my Samsung device. Other than that, it works quite well.Read full review...

Great little cable modem for the price. Features include easy to follow "Quick Set-up Guide", excellent performance, small footprint, on/off button and full multi-colored status display on the front of the unit. Backed by an industry leading 2-yr warranty (most only are 1-yr) from a well known company that supports all of their products with expert consumer technical support.

Additionally, one can access the complete operational status regarding this modem by entering the modem's IP address into their browser's address bar. Next a screen will open up for you to enter the modem's username and password in order to login. The IP address and login credentials can be found on the bottom of the modem. Once logged in, you will discover pages of information and logs regarding the specifications and operational status that the modem is currently in and from the recent past. This information is not necessary for you to view or monitor but can be extremely helpful in the event of any operational issues that may arise. Some other leading brands of modems out there for sale don't have this capability. Works and looks good

It's hard to rate a modem that just sits there and transfers data. But the Motorola seems like it may be above-average quality. That's one of the reasons I chose it.

Aesthetically, the classy dark gray color blends in well. (I don't like white equipment by comparison.) It also has a nice wide and stable foot. I've had other modems that keep falling over or have to be laid down. The upright position likely aids in cooling as well as saves desk space. And finally, I appreciate the power switch. Seems like a minor thing, and I rarely turn it off and on, but most equipment these days doesn't have one and has to be unplugged instead.

Great Little Modem

I recently started cord cutting and was looking for lost cost products to make it worth while without a bunch of up front costs. I had a triple plan with Voice, Internet and TV and the rate was up to $210 per month. Picked up a FireTVstick on CC points and Ooma on Prime sale then dusted off my old wireless router. I just needed a cable modem to complete the package. Saw the good reviews on this one and it was Comcast compatible. I ripped out the monster the Comcast was renting me and this unit came up lickety split. You can log into the unit to verify it's status but you still need to call the Cable Company for them to authorize the device on their network. The minute it came up I connected straight to my laptop to verify the connection with the Comcast tech and I was getting 120Mbps a full 20 Mbps above my tiered Internet connection package. Remember with this unit you still need a router for your home network. This unit has a great little footprint on your destop much nicer than the beast from the CATV company that I removed.Read full review...
