Setup was fast because there was very little that we had to setup. We are new to 3d printing, but we were printing within about 20 minutes. Print was smooth with the settings that we used. Mostly works, but lots of missing published features

First off. It prints great no issues there, so long as you use the memory card.

The other two methods of connecting to the printer USB and wifi don’t work. I contacted Monoprice on setting up the wifi as the iOS app they publish is only available in the US App Store... so much for international availability. No problem, I’ll work around it using ocoprint through the USB port. No luck either, as the port appears to be dead and I’ve tried multiple cords and different pcs. I’ve read similar issues with dead USB ports on reddit... As Monoprice doesn’t get back to me, not sure what to do next...Read full review

Better than expected

This low-cost printer is good as it is right out of the box. The only thing negative is the controller knob, I often select the wrong menu if i do not give it extra attention. You can even make he printer better by following instructions on youtube, like new software, more solid z-axis mounting and a glass printing bed. It prints well on ABS as PLA. The quality of the fillement is crucial. You have to study the settings of the parameters to get the best results. I gave 4 stars to this printer for I think the easy improvements should have been done by Monoprice.Read full review

Right And Ready!

I bought mine used and got a good deal. Everything you have to do (bed levelling, adding filament) is super-easy! On the plus-size it's compact and fits anywhere. The only feature that would make me want to buy a different type is to increase the bed size. All in all it is a superior product to any DIY kit type printers. Great print quality too. Definitely recommend to anyone who isn't familiar with 3D Printer construction or anyone who wants to make efficient use of a small space.Read full review

Great entry printer with a fatal design flaw

Both the v1 and v2 versions of this printer have a fatal design flaw. The wires for the hot bed are routed under the hot bed and bound very tightly. They will eventually chaffe and break due to the constant back and forth motion. Just search YouTube for mp select mini hotbed rewire. The wires need to be unsoldered and rerouted out the side or back of the printer. It's just a matter of time. The wires WILL fail. One of my wires had the insulation worn thru after only a few prints.Read full review

Nice Printer

This printer was easy to get going for a newbie, had a little bit of trouble because didn't set the speed parameters and the nozzle ate up the platform tape,once I set the speed at 1.6 it worked great, also had a nut fall out of the printer head nozzle, no biggie, put it back in and tightened it back up, still working good. Didn't come with filament, would have been nice, but had to buy some PLA/ABS rolls and build platform tape anyway, now have to experiment with software.Read full review
