accurate and sensitive a good buy for the money
I bought 2 of these for checking temperatures in closed buildings so I do not have to open the door when its cold out so the buildings do not loose heat or have the heaters kick on . they are accurate to 1 degree ( checked against a certified tester ) I clipped the leads like the instructions said and hooked up a 9 v battery to power it , and put the lead thru a hole I drilled in the wall . with in 3 minutes it was reading the temp in the well house , I found out the thermometers I had in there were of by 10 degrees . the other one I put in the garage to check to see if its warm enough for the water pipes above it . works perfect . the sensor can detect heat if you move near it . its that sensitive , only problems are HAving to make a power source for it as 9vs in cold do not last too long . going set up a brick to power it ,Read full review...

I have purchased 3 of these because they work just fine ... I only wish that they would make the sensor wire longer to reach the front of the car. I put them in 3 of my cars, but had to cut and extend all the sensors double wires.Read full review...

Not what I thought
I thought I could use it for the outdoor temp and run the wire through a window opening but it has to be plugged into a connector. May work for other applications but I had to throw it away.
