All of the core Metal Gear Solid games before the fifth one in one beautiful package, including the old MSX computer titles that started the franchise: Metal Gear, and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. If you are a die hard Metal Gear fan I highly recommend this product, and if you are a casual fan that just wants to have a sampling of what its all about this is for you too. On the first disc it contains the original 8-bit Metal Gear games that were never released in the US, the High Definition versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Disc one contains Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The package also contains a digital download code for the original Metal Gear Solid and it's companion Metal Gear Solid: The VR Missions. In addition to the games themselves, if you put disc 2 in a Blu-Ray player, you get access to the Digital Graphic Novels for Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2, which are basically just animated comics that play like a movie and are voice acted by the original actors from the series.

There is only one con that I can think of to mention.
You have to have an internet connection, and a Playstation Network account to get the first Metal Gear Solid and the VR missions. This might be just a nitpick, but this is arguably the most important game in the series but it's not included on one of the discs, and you need an internet connection. If you have none of these things, don't buy this collection solely because you want to play the original. I would have liked them to just put the time in to making it appear on one of the discs like the 8-bit MSX Computer games are, but that's just an opinion. I thought all the games were on disc and was disappointed at first to find they weren't all on the disc. I mainly bought it for the first metal gear they had on playstation and got disappointed it wasn't on a disc. After taking a closer look I relized I have to download it with a code provided and unfortunately fore I don't have Internet either. But I will just take it to a friend's for that. The perfect metal gear game for a hard core fan!

After playing MGS 5, I feel like i should play the prequels and see how much the games has changed. MGS 4 is my all time favorite! The rest are very fun to play and enjoying the scenes of the game! Awesome product. Great value for the money

Something there can be too much of a good thing and one begins to wonder if the greatness can hold its death grip on your senses for the whole trip. There's a fear that at the last moment the experience will take a drastically wrong turn and turn your favorite t-shirt into a dishrag. But put those fears aside because Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater manages to set a fantastic pace early on and keeps everything going right up to the closing credits and then some. Overall, this is the best Metal Gear Solid game that we've seen and, yes, it rules.

First of all, I have to come out and say that Metal Gear Solid was the previous titleholder for the Solid Snake crown. With the creative boss battles and innovative style it was well worth replaying over and over despite the naysayers who complain about its length. After all, the same thing can be said for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty with its incessant Codec conversations and movies. Strip away MGS2's story and there's a pretty short game there as well. As for its story itself there's little of interest unless you really want to spend a couple of late, smoky nights going over the details and putting all the pieces together, and they do fit together. While that's kind of interesting if you want a pleasant mind rutting, it was far from fun to watch a game eat itself.

Still, the one thing that MGS2 did right, fantastically right, was take the gold standard of stealth espionage action from MGS and update it beautifully for the current generation. The graphics were amazing to look at and with the new sets of moves and details to dig into, gamers kept going back again and again for more to try out a situation in a different way or collect all of the dog tags they could get. It was so slick and pulled off so well that it even helped the Metal Gear RAY battle go down nicely, or at least be stomached.Read full review...

The game’s is great shape and packed well. The discs look brand new and all of the items are in it.
I have around 15 hours gameplay sofas and it runs perfect.
It even came with a small thank you card for the purchase, which was a sweet touch.
All-in-all it was a great first purchase experience on eBay.
