Decent product, saves money!
I like to brew different gourmet coffees and this allows me to do so. These definitely work better than the permanent mesh screen cups, as those tend to leave grounds in your cup when brewing coffee. The java jig does a better job brewing a better cup of coffee. It is also way more economical then buying k-cups.Read full review

nice concept, not so nice execution
I like and respect Melitta for their product quality generally speaking. This product is an exception, I must say. With the opportunity to make something really useful for millions of coffee lovers everywhere, it appears they squandered their opportunity with this JavaJig. I've tried using it a about 20 times or so, and only once or twice did it provide a filtered cup of coffee without a big mess. It appears that the filter paper is simply too weak to withstand the pressure of a Keurig brewer, which it is designed to be used with. I'm using the K55 brewing system, and while this product appears to go together with the brewer perfectly, it consistently "blows" a fracture in the filter paper, and sends grinds all over the place, including the innards of the brewing insert and the cup of java being made. The insert must then be flushed out omitting a K-cup and running at least 2 brew cycles. I've cleaned up many a mess trying to get this product to work acceptably, to no avail.
Try this and you'll see why the filter paper fails. After brewing a cup of coffee using a K-cup, allow the k-cup to cool a bit, then remove the sealed foil topper that has been pierced in the center. Thoroughly wash/rinse out the coffee grinds from the exposed k-cup, and you'll see the pleated filter medium used by the brewing system specifications. it's wet now, so using finger pressure only, press inside the cup with enough force to rupture the filter medium. Compare the strength of the filter medium in the k-cup with that of a just used Melitta JavaJig filter, and the difference in media strength is startling! Sorry, Melitta, you just didn't engineer the filter media for the task.Read full review

As promised
The Java Jig is very easy to use and makes for quick clean-up. It takes a few trials to get the coffee amount right, but once you have that figured out, it works perfectly. Would buy it again.

it works but I don't use it much
It works OK, but I don't use it much, just too much trouble. For someone really wanting to reduce the price of their coffee, it would help, but the convenience of the prepackaged cups makes it too easy, and the disposal seals the deal. These are kind of a pain to clean and disassemble each time you make a single cup of coffeeRead full review

Been using for years. Good product
Two problems with it - I've thrown away a piece several times and had to buy more of these and several times the filter broke and got lots of grounds in my coffee. Otherwise, works great, just have to be careful when disposing of grounds and careful not to make too tight, I guess.Read full review

Just OK.
The older pods are much better than these new and improved ones. The plastic is much harder, and the little black lids have tabs on either side, making it hard to get it on in the correct place to match the pronged piece so it will fit into the machine. Also after brewing, the darn things are quit hard to get apart in order to clean out the grounds.Read full review

Not Up to Melita Standards
Could not make a cup of coffee without copious amount of ground in the coffee and inside my Keurig machine. Meaning the coffee was undrinkable and the machine needed to be cleaned each use. Tried repeatedly to make work without luck. As an alternative to Keurig’s standard system for using your own coffee and not having to buy commercial pods, don’t bother. Read full review
Worth trying it out!
I was going to give the filters 4 stars but I think my issue has more to do with me than the filters. I sometimes get grinds in my coffee. To be fair, I put too much coffee in the pod in the hopes of a stronger brew.
The grinds issue does not happen when I put in less coffee and I still get a robust cup. I also like the javajig pod design very much.
Hope this is helpful.Read full review

Quick to assemble and fill
I found the Melitta Java Jig easy to assemble and fill with coffee but it does need to be assemble for each cup of coffee it is used for. I think I prefer the Solo K-cup better.
To assemble the Melitta Jig first you hold the brown filter-form, then center the paper filter over the form uprights, then place the green cup over the paper filter and push the cup down over the filter. Now the paper filter can be filled with coffee grinds. Once filled the brown cup cap and be snapped on to the top of the green cup.
Due to design some coffee grinds can escape through the hole in the cup cap. Also after the Jig has been used to brew coffee I found the cup lid can be difficult to remove. I needed a butter knife to twist and pry the lid off.Read full review

Wish coffee stayed in filter
It works well and brews easily but was hoping for something where all the coffee would
Stay in the filter. It's better than other systems I have tried!
