A Somewhat Different Movie, But Interesting 6.5/10
We picked up this movie mainly due to the acting cast, which consist of Will Ferrell, Amanda Peet, and Steve Carell(from 40yr Old Virgin), and it appeared interesting. We werent sure what the movie was about, so we thought we would watch it and see. It is somewhat of an odd movie, the way it was directed by showing the life of Melinda in two different aspects/views, all at the same time.
It is more of a philosophical movie, that offers a lot of good point of views, and information as well. An inner view on a circle of friends, and their so-called deteriorating relationships, and life experiences.
Its a "calm" movie that somewhat requires a good amount of attention in order to keep track of what is being said, and what is going on. Its interesting, yet different.
The background music at the opening of the film, and throughout the film is more of the Roaring 20's Swing theme. More up to date music would have better set the mood/interests for its viewers.
Its a good film. It offers several great characters, a pretty good storyline, and interesting philosophical views on different relationship lifestyles.
We recommend seeing it. RENT IT or BUY IT? You may be interested in renting it before buying it(unless you get it at a great price), and see what you think of it.

I was expecting more fun.
I bought this DVD mainly because Will Ferrell stars in it. Unfortunately, neither Ferrell or any other star (Amanda Peet, Steve Carrell and so on) shine in this movie. Perhaps I am disapointed because I was expecting it to be a comedy and drama. I only experienced it as a drama. Of course there were funny moments but not at all what I was expecting.
I do not think the actors perform very good either and that is a shame since it is good actors otherwise.
I like the idea of the film but to be honest, I do not recommend this movie unless you are really in to the drama bit. Maybe then it is a 3/5 rating.Read full review...
Great!
This movie makes you feel for the charecters. You go from complete discomfort to joy. I did not think Will ferrell would do well in a Woody Allen movie but he nailed it.

A super movie written and directed by woody allen. One of his best movies in a long time, a must see, a very clever story that only woody can conjure.
