Amazing
Being a huge fan of Mass Effect 1, I was semi-reluctant about what Mass Effect 2 might change. I read the Metacritic score and found it to be in the top 10 games for PC, surpassing its predecessor. I received ME2: Collectors Edition and found not only the game but also free downloadable items. However the true test would not be the contents of the box but the gameplay. ME2 took everything that was bad about ME1 and made it awesome. I am more of a shooter than and RPG fan and this may annoy people, but I didn't get bogged down working with a vast inventory, upgrading my guns to better guns every few minutes, instead they had a cool system that allowed upgrading and leveling but in such of a way that it didn't get in the way of core gameplay.
It felt like an RPG Gears of War, the cover system is awesome, the use to various weapons and powers makes for unpredictable combat. The locales are breathtaking, the species are interesting. The dialog pulls you in, rather than leaving you hitting the space-bar to skip the conversation. As a shooter/rpg fan, I put this game on the same level if not higher than Deus Ex. RPG fans, your fun is there, while shooters, you won't get slowed down from your combat, which was somewhat lacking in the first game.Read full review...
Better than the Halo series
I first got into the Mass Effect trilogy when my brother Daniel bought me the first one as my birthday present. I got sucked into this game almost instantly. And when Mass Effect 2 came out I just had to have it. The thing about Mass Effect games is that anything in the game or any add-on available for the game has a significant impact on the story in more ways than you can imagine. While in the most part having everything in the game be important can be intense and for the most part really exciting, there is a downside to it. If you don't have Mass Effect 1, then the game decides by default that you chose poorly in your decisions in Mass Effect 1. There is an add-on called Mass Effect: Genesis which allows you to replace playing the first game with a 15 minute comic that allows you to go through some of the major decisions in Mass Effect 1. A little fun fact for those of you: Mass Effect 2 was actually inducted into the Smithsonians new "Art of Video Games" exhibit. I'm not sure what the exact reason is, but after playing it and comparing it to other video games that I played in the past, it certainly deserves a spot in the exhibit.Read full review...
Another Triple-A Bioware Title
Debatably the best game of 2010. It improves on everything that Mass Effect 1 had problems with, which was little (inventory being the biggest) and increases the scale, setting everything up for Mass Effect 3. The story still has closure at the end of the game, so it won't leave you feeling cheated knowing the looming Reaper threat is looming and getting closer. It has great replayability, and if you're like me you'll want to roll through both Renegade & Paragon play-style one right after the other. Add a huge galaxy to explore and quests with a rich lore, and you have a fully immersive game that will leave you deeply satisfied. That is, until you beat it and wish you had Mass Effect 3 to find out what happens to Commander Shepard.Read full review...
It's a great game, either for playthrough or collecting.
This is truly a wonderful game, the best from Bioware in my opinion. The collector's editions were made in a very limited number, and not many are left sealed. If you're looking to play the game, the extra art work, commentary and other bonus features afforded by the collector's edition are great, but also, this is a wonderful piece to keep sealed in your collection.Read full review...

My son loves the game because you are able to have different skills each time so you can play it many times before it gets old.He also likes the comic book that came with the collectors edition and now wants me to get him the books.I would recommend this game .Read full review...
