Initially time consuming to set up, but once done performs well.

Once it is warmed up it performs well. Before then, once plugged in & trying to establish a route it's very time consuming. Clicking check mark & menu is no problem. When entering city & street, it's click 1 letter wait & wait & wait, then click next letter & wait all over again. Once entry has been made & option selected then GPS performs well. This is my 2nd Magellan RoadMate 1700 & the 1st with this issue. Not sure if I need new battery or ensure a significant charge is applied before use.Read full review...

Performs well, better than I expected. Little slow and skipy on movement, menus are great, easy to find Items, large screen a real plus +++ Is a very good help, can't wait to add one upload for upgrade for Truck Stops to see if it will preform as good as the trucker's Cobra, and Rand McNally, I think I will leave this one in my daily Chey Truck, and buy another for my Semi...

Free lifetime map/firmware updates. Super Easy GPS.

Very easy to read display. Very loud no need to turn down your music. Heads ups display real time POI gas stations banks fast food. Has plug for wireless backup camera.It works with after market backup cameras very well. Super easy map upgrades with firmware updates. The updates or about every 30-60 days.If you need to know your speed just touch the clock on the left side bottom you get MPH Altitude and headings. The only problem with this GPS is it's heavy and the mount will drop down the whole unit. I put mine close to the dash and it works great.Read full review...

Large display and easy to use, great product!

Giant screen, simple to use, backup camera works great! I am a diehard TomTom fan, but when surching for a GPS for my wife with a backup camera, this was the one! The remote backup camera works everytime and was simple to install. After getting use to a new operating system, it turned out to be a bit easier than TomTom. Only drawback is you have to sometimes "tell it where it is" by forcing a location update. This only occurs after turning in on at a different location.Read full review...

Misadvertised as "USED:

iy was misadvertised as "used" .. It required a new battery immediately which i installed and then i have found out that the power socket is defective and the slightest movement causes the screen to go into shutdown mode. Wish it worked but someone is 30 bucks fatter.Read full review...
