Verify model number and finish of magazine before purchase
Model number MGBT3808B is the black oxide coating (B) NOT the Anti-Friction Coating (AFC). The last character(s) in the model number denotes the finish. The card on the back of the package confirms this as well as my call to Mec-Gar. The item description from gooutdoorgear is inaccurate for this. Please get this corrected. Still a good magazine though and I will be keeping it. Mec-Gar makes most pistol OEM magazines so if you can't get OEM branded, get Mec-Gar. If your OEM pistol magazine has "Made in Italy" stamped on it, it's likely Mec-Gar.Read full review...

Good quality but fails to latch with modifying the latch hole.
My Bersa Thunder came with two 7 rd magazines that were not factory (Pro Mag) and I was having trouble with last empty failing to eject. So the 8 rd Mec-Gar magazine seemed to be the answer. However, the Mec-Gar would not lock in position because the magazine could not travel far enough to latch. I modified the latch hole with a file and all is well but I did not expect have to modify it to work. Perhaps if I had ordered a 7 rd mag it would work ... who knows?Read full review...

With great struggle
I tried this out at the range and could only get 7 rounds in. However when I got home I managed, with great effort, I used the eraser end of a pencil to push the follower down just enough to force that 8th round in. I'm going to leave it full for a while to let the spring wear in. Hopefully this solves it without having to shorten the spring. I too also noticed this is better quality than the original. When I bought my Firestorm I knew Bersa magazines were pricey and only held 7 rounds. I'm not a fan of ProMag as they always seem to disappoint, not true with Mec Gar. Made in Italy, this magazine increases capacity to 8 + 1 and functioned flawlessly on the 100 rounds I ran through it during pistol break in. I just purchased 2 more and will put my factory Bersa magazine away for safe storage. I always travel with three magazine and my three will be Mec gar. get them before the price goes up. awesome single stack 8rnd mag
I bought one and had to have another. These Italian made Mec-Gar 8 round mags for the bersa .380 are better quality than the 7 round mag that comes from the factory with the firearm. 1 more round and better performance. Ill take it all day long. That 1 round might be the difference between life and death, and with 8+1 I am approaching the 10+1 of my .40 Glock which is too big to carry concealed. Very good for the money.
I was shocked to see how cheap these were compared to the factory mags. Despite that, the finish and quality on these is noticeably better than the mag that came with my gun. Loading these is also easier than the factory magazine. The finish is very nice, and so far the gun has fed everything from these without any failures, save for a few odd instances of not quite locking back on the last round in a couple of instances. Excellent, but...
This is an excellent replacement magazine for the Bersa Thunder, but it's claim of eight rounds is problematic. Indeed it will hold eight rounds but getting your Bersa to accept it with eight rounds is iffy. Some have had success, some have not. I was aware of this in advance so I have no problems with seven rounds.
