LOVE & OTHER DRUGS wants to be about the Jake Gyllenhaal salesman character, but the soulfulness that Anne Hathaway brings to her waitress character is what makes this movie special. Hathaway has Parkinson's Disease, and the way she navigates that challenge is absolutely riveting. I have watched this movie countless times and probably will continue to do so, especially on the days where I don't feel like I deserve life, love, happiness or even someone to share my life with. As a child, I was diagnosed with a painful cripping illness, one that is life changing, a physically and emotionally challenging disease that only gets worse as the years pass by. Coming to terms with the fact that I have to live with a chronic illness, the severe chronic pain associated with it and with the truth that no matter what I do or what treatments I take; I will NEVER EVER be cured will probably be the hardest thing I will ever have to accept... Thank you! I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is living with chronic pain, a chronic illness or for someone in their lives who is. The emotions in the movie are so on-point. I can't say enough. Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway played great parts and there is a comedic side to it as well, it's a wonderful and emotional movie. However on a serious side note--there is a lot of nudity and mature adult sex scenes in this film....not recommended for kids/pre-teens or younger adults.Read full review...
