The three step cutter is definitely a learning experience. I think for my first project I went through about five mat boards until I got a good cut.

This is more of a hobbyist tool, I think, so it works well with my small set-up. It is a bit awkward to use at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy as pie. Make sure that you use a scrap board beneath the board you're cutting, otherwise the mat cut won't be clean.Read full review
