Used Linksys Router

Bought this to replace same type of device that failed. Backup of settings made it easy to install. Works great - just not quite as long a range as my old one. Good value, quick delivery.

Good but not for what I wanted

I bought this product so I could connect an external hard drive through its usb port. Even though it recognized it in setup I can't save the settings. I called linksys and they had no clue on the matter. They told me they no longer support the product and told me to call another place. The router is good but I cant use it for what i purchased it. If you just need a wireless router for internet, this should work well for you.Read full review...

Nice hardware that can be had for a great price

This is the exact same hardware as the older Linksys WRT610N V2 model and I've used a couple of those for the last several years with good results. It works great for running DD-WRT firmware

The E3000 which was purchased used here on E-Bay is being used in a home network setting as the router, switch, 2.4 and 5.8Ghz AP.

Having a gig bit switch is very nice when transferring and backing up large files over the network. The wireless section has good range.

These models are known to run hot but I've found that having it wall mounted using the built in provision for that allows the box to run cooler.

Very reliable and does not need regular reboots.

Linksys E3000; fantastic Dual-radioA/B/G/N Access point with great features

Linksys E3000 is one of the most cost effective Wireless routers for SOHO; it has two radios: one for 802.11b/g/n standard, and the other for 802.11a/n standard, and three internal antennas for each radio (total of 6 internal antennas) making a great wireless coverage, that make E3000 compatible with all modern WiFi capable devices (smart phones, laptops, WiFi media players, etc...). also, the Wireless N standard support make the E3000 capable for HD video streaming over wireless. other features like 1-port Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet WAN , plus 4-port Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet switch, USB2.0 port for External USB hardrives (NAS solution) and 8MB Flash memory, 16MB DRAM, all that make it a fantastic, powerful Wireless Access Point. i recommend the E3000 for all house users/ Small Business users.
Suggestion: i recommend mounting the E3000 on a flat surface and make a good space between the surface and the E3000 to increase the Air flow, and avoid the heat issues underneath the unit.

Linksys E3000 is enough for home use

The E3000 made by Linksys is a quality wireless switch and router. I have been using one for several years. It provides the necessary extension to the supplied Ethernet transmissions from my IP supplier to conduct real time streaming as well as downloads. The second acquired was to act as backup as the first is beginning to weaken somewhat for the continuous use. I would not say that a buyer would be able to receive the new gold standard of steaming 4K since I didn't have a 4K set. However, everything else as sufficient. Security is satisfactory as well.Read full review...

There is great value in buying top of the line router from several years ago.

This was a top of the line router back in 2010-2011. It's still a very good router, and certainly better than cheap routers you can buy in 2017 for around $60. If you can buy the E3000 used for around $20-$25 it's a great deal. I particularly like that this router model still has the activity lights on the front. So many routers these days have activity lights on the back, if they have them at all. This router also has an on/off switch, which most routers do not. It makes power cycling a little less of a hassle. I also suggest flashing this router with an alternate firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato.Read full review...

Perfect quality, many features for nice price - best option for home usage!

Perfect router from the worldwide leader in networking.
A lot of features, premium design. Adwanced users will find a huge number of various options to improve performance. But even out-of-the-box it works flawlessly. On 2,4 GHz it works a lot faster than usual wifi-g, and with 5GHz you can also enjoy streaming HD video, IPTV - this router can do almost everything! (except for making cookies)Read full review...

Great router for price

Very easy to setup with great features for advance users. Could not get my Windows Vista laptop to connect using a secure wifi network but my Windows 7 laptop works great and so do our iPhones. Able to stream YouTube and other large data hog sites at the same time on several devices at once.Read full review...

Best Linksys/Cisco router to date.

In my opinion, this is the best Linksys/Cisco router so far. I've used many of the newer ones, but none of them is as solid as this one is. First thing I did was flash it over to DD-WRT. I set up my network (2.4 band is 802.11a/b/g and the 5.4 band is pure N at 40mhz, with the same SSID. The failover works perfectly, with N capable devices running at N speeds, and slower devices relegated to the 2.4 band. I haven't had a single issue with this device since then.

(Did have two problems, but neither was with the device.. first, DD-WRT doesn't like firefox... wouldn't save changes until I switched to a different browser. Second, had a terrible time getting my laptop to run at N speeds. Turned out my wireless adapter was built to use 5.2ghz instead of 5.4... took me forever to figure out why it wasn't connecting...)
