Learning to Bow Review

I like that this book gives insite as to how the Japan culture is different from America. I think it's a very interesting book so far. Some parts drag on a little bit but the main idea is always there. It's a story about a American teacher who went over to Japan to teach english in a school over there. It talks about the way of Japan and how even though Japan is evolving with new technology it still has that old Japan culture in it.Read full review...

Great!

I decided to purchase this book before traveling to Japan to teach English for a summer. "Learning to Bow" is the personal account of author Bruce Feiler's year teaching English in Japan. The book is funny and poignant, and does a good job of representing the Japanese culture. Anyone interested in learning more about Japanese culture and especially thier educational system should read this book. Highly recommended!Read full review...
