LG VX3300 (Verizon Wireless)

The LG VX3300 has long been an entry level work-horse for the Verizon line of phones. Despite the fact that they have not been produced for years, their abundance in the market place is a testament to their durability. Here are our pro’s and con’s, based upon our experience.

Pros: Lightweight and compact, with good sound and eye appeal. A sturdy hinge and antenna attachment keeps this phone in one piece, even with abuse. The faceplates are also an easy switch out, for those who choose to give their phone a newer appearance. There are numerous Ringtones and wallpaper available and texting is without issue.

Cons: Like many phones, viewing in the sunlight can be a struggle. And, like most entry level phones, there is no camera. Also absent is an external caller-ID screen. The battery, like all phones that use the “marine blue” model does not have an impressive life.

basic, simple, decent inexpensive phone

i received this phone in a timely manner when i was in desparate need for it as my old phone had been stolen.
this is a pretty basic, decent looking flip phone which can fit easily in a small hand bag or even in a jeans pocket.
the best thing about this flip phone is that u cannot dial any number accidentaly because it closes it closes its flap.
i like the "silent all" feature of this phone which means that it wont even vibrate when somebody calls or text messages you if thats what u want at a certain time. its better than the annoying vibration sounds of certain phones.
another feature that i like bout this phone is the speaker option; if you want to use that when u need to be hands free.
although i miss the camera option as it does not have that. but i can live without that for sometime. its small , its not bulky but its not completely sleek either. for its price its a good working cell phone!

Verizon LG VX3300 - simple and dependable phone

The LG VX3300 is a great phone for the bare bones user. There is no camera, or front display, which helps to lower the price, which means that you can often find this phone for under $20.00 on ebay. I purchased the phone as a temporary replacement for a phone that I had lost, and it works better than the old one. It can take a beating as well. I've known people to lose this phone in the snow, only to find it after it melts, and the phone still worked! If you are looking for a phone that is dependable and cheap, and don't need all those extra features, this is the phone for you.Read full review...

Free Ringtones

Besides the usual features, this phone allows you to create your own ringtones.

Instead of buying ringtones from the internet, or sticking with the very limited free ringtones, make your own!<br>
Using the Voice-Memo feature, one can record ringtones (by playing your mp3's) or record your friend's voices (or your dog's).

Then, save the memo, and go to Settings>>Sounds>>Ringtones, and there it is! Your own personal ringtone. Free!

Which is why I love this phone! If your really interested in the other features, look above and below this.

Love, love, love this phone! ! !

Ruined my VX3200 by taking off the covers. Found the VX3300 online and knew it had all the same features as the 3200 but you could interchange covers by popping them off with no trouble at all. THE BEST FEATURE, FOR ME, IS THAT YOU CAN PROGRAM THE PHONE TO SAY "NAME PLEASE" AS SOON AS YOU FLIP IT OPEN! This is something that I must have! If you wear reading glasses, like I do, it's impossible to find the button on the newer phones that you have to press before you can voice dial! ! ! Try it at night while you're in the car--it's just too easy to hit the wrong button and end up wasting time and getting toooooo aggrevated. Wish they'd return this feature back to the new phones! Sure sometimes it doesn't always recognize the name I'm asking for but I've learned to just flip it closed and then back open again. I speak a little clearer and louder and it usually works the second time. Now, you can't have the radio blasting or kids yelling or dogs barking because it confuses the phone and can't recognize YOUR voice but that's ok with me. Just the convenience of flipping it open, hearing "Name Please" and then telling it who I want is the best thing about this phone. I've told so many of my friends that have the same problem w/the new phones to try this one (if they can get it) and see what a difference it makes. Google the Model # and you'll find all the other features it has since I didn't list them. I talk on it when necessary and people can reach me wherever I am. I don't use a headset. I don't text(not that I can't). I don't need all that extra stuff. Just ease of use when I need it. I'm not the type that has to have it glued to my ear for lack of anything better to do. It's a great little phone and I recommend it to everyone!Read full review...

good no frills phone.

LG VX3300 phone It was low priced and low frills, after about 14 months the phone would only turn on and shut right off before booting up fully which had the negative effect of not allowing me to retrieve my contacts list. Took the phone to the Verizon dealer and they also couldn't get the data so if your contacts are as important to you as they are to me have a copy of all the numbers in the phone before it dies! I had approx 37% of the numbers. Phone had poor reception in fringe areas. Original battery lasted approx 5 months. Since this was my first phone I don't really have any other phones to compare it to. In my garage the phone had relatively inconsistent reception when others with different phones had good performance.Read full review...

LG VX3300 phone stone age survivor

My first 3300 lasted for 7 years- used about 3 hrs per day. Got dropped a dozen times, got wet twice and dried out. Battery replaced only once. Still worked when I replaced it but the 4 button stuck and I couldn't dial 4. It looked like a tree root. While others showed off their new GIANT phones with the DATA plan and complained about dropped calls, my 3300 with an ANTENNA made calls from a basement in a stone house, from a metal frame greenhouse and a dead zone valley miles from a tower. No screen on the outside, no camera, nothing to suck up your battery and increase it's size. Just a little phone that fits in your pocket and works! AND I purchased a near-mint replacement on E-bay for $.99. Kafer70 Kiss my ring Verizon no contracts for me!Read full review...

LG VX3300 (Verizon Wireless)

I recently had LG VX3300 (Verizon Wireless). I needed to replace my cell phone and when looking around to purchase another one, I couldn't find one with the ez/tip calculator on them. I use this feature when I am calculating tipping amount. This feature is very helpful to me. That is why I purchased the LG VX3300 (Verizon Wireless) cell phone.Read full review...

Less is More

I love this phone because the display is VERY LARGE. As a person who needs reading glasses, I can see the time without the glasses, which is a plus. Also, you can set the wallpaper to be BLANK, which is what I want. The downside is not having an outside display. But, I can't see teh small type on an exterior display anyway, so who cares. It is very user-friendly, as well. My 80 year old mother also has one, and she was able to figure it all out in no time. She sends me text messages daily! And the price can't be beat. I got my first one free from Verizon with a contract. When I dropped it in water, I replaced it on ebay with a new model for 55 dollars (70 with shipping. I notice you can get used ones for 10 bucks as well. I can live with that kind of pricing plan.Read full review...

was not a Verizon phone at all. it was a sprint phone

I ordered this phone because it was advertised as a Verizon phone for my mother in law. however when we tried to activate the phone- we learned it was a sprint phone. Had to order another phone from someone else and send this phone back. I sent it back and still haven't received my money yet. Not happy at all with this purchase. I just want what I ordered and not a bunch of drama.Read full review...
