Nice Back-up Camera

I purchased this camera because I wanted a quick and easy back-up camera for my DSLR. When you become used to having a great zoom it is difficult to go back to the standard 3x-5x zooms you find in most pocket sized cameras out in the market place today. This Kodak does the trick without breaking the bank. It has a decent 10mp processor, with an equally decent 10x zoom kodak lens. There are a few menu options to play with, like shutter speed, but not an abundance like you'd find an a DSLR. There were some issue with red eye when using flash indoors and some slow times between point and shoot, but other than that the camera is great for quick shots on the go straight out of the pocket or purse. If your needs are minimal and you're not looking for any high tech features, or simply are like me and want a DSLR back-up camera, then this is for you. If you're expecting an amazing experience, then you're in the wrong price point. Basically, good camera with a great price.Read full review...

Beautiful Pictures

I bought this camera for an upgrade of my 715IS This camera takes great pics inside or out. The adjustment for light in the photo itself is a plus. It is a compact camera with easy to use functions. It does mount on a tripod for easy picture taking. The camera adjusts from 35-350mm for great closeups. You can take closeup pictures and wide shots as well. The wrist strap is a good feature for total control. Inside photos are not grainy. Just beautiful pics.

The camera is a great all around camera for all your needs. I am using it for nature and birding photos.

The only dislike about this camera is it doesn't come with a rechargeable battery pack and it did not come with a memory storage card.

Nice, solid, inexpensive but good camera.

I'm still getting to know my Kodak Z915, but so far it has taken great pics. Unfortunately, I forgot to put a memory card in the camera while on vacation so I got maybe 8 high quality pictures before the internal memory stated memory full. I did run to a nearby store in put in a 4GB memory card so all was well afterwards.

I do notice that when you take pictures of indoor objects with the flash, you have to stand back a fair distance to prevent overexposure.

Overall, the camera is a solid and reliable camera unlike a lot of the other Easyshares and other fragile yet compact cameras.

Simple camera for simple conditions.

This is very simple camera with some advantages and disadvantages.
So:
[+]
10MP sensor
10x ZOOM
Optical image stabilizer
AA battery type
SDHC support
big set of Scenes
optimal size and weight
[-]
Noisy sensor (for 200+ ISO)
No JPEG quality adjustment - default is poor
No RAW format support (as in other Z-series)
reflecting plastic frame of screeen

So, if you want to use this camera in simple nature conditions (sun and light) - you can use it well! But don't wait impressive results.

Great Optical lens for the price

I needed to replace a Kodak Z51 which although it didn't have a 5-star rating, was a good camera (I am passing it on to my daughter who wants her first digital camera). The impressive feature of the Z51 was it 10X optical lens. It was not the fastest camera, but it took good photos and acceptable video.

Thus, the main requirement of my new camera was at least an 8X-10X optical lens. This is the best feature of the Z915. There are very few comparable cameras in its price range with this lens capacity. The Z915 is smaller and lighter weight, thus perhaps not a hardy as the Z51 which survived many drops to the pavement witnessed by many scrathes, but it kept on ticking.) Hopefully this one will also. The Z914 has a maximum resolution of 10 mega pixels which is way more than most of us really need and is double the Z51. When is the last time you make an 11X14?

For some the small control buttons are a problem. The on/off button on the front center is very small and is combined with the telephoto control which is s small ring surround the on/off button. The other basic functions were easy for me as they were very similar to the Z51 although more delicate. The many scene modes are found layered in a stack of small icons in a manner typical of other Kodak cameras. Thus if upgradingfrom an older Kodak, the functions of the Z915 are very intuitive. The camera is just slightly bigger than many slimline tick-in-your pocket cameras.

The photoss and video are quite acceptable to those of us looking for a cheap, all round camera. This camera is available from around $80 to $130. For $12 an extended warranty is available for the cheaper refurbished models. Using a SDHC card will improve camera speed as well as happiness in taking longer videos. The camera will accept up to 32 GB card. Your computer may need an SDHC card reader or you can transfer via USB. The internal memory is also 32 GB.
That is still a lot of photos at 10mp.

With the camera set for no review time and using and SDHC card, continuous shots are possible up to at least 30. Battery power will be the limiting factor unless you are taking at full 10 mp resolution. I haven't tried a long video, but the faster SDHC cards will help get better results. Unfortunately, a good ScanDisk 32 GB Class 10 card costs more than the camera.

Battery power may be a bit light as it still uses just two AA batteries. I use NiCd rechargle batteries. The main issue is that as the batteries rundown, the rechage time slows.

Most complaints about this camera relate to color and photo quality. Those people need to spend the money to buy better cameras. But if you are looking or something just above point and shoot, that produces decent photos, this is a good choice.

Better then some higher end priced cameras plus!

This digital camera from Kodak is packed full of features and a great maker history to squeeze out the best in inexpensive photography, not to mention it's a pretty good video recorder too. With 10 megapixels, the use of regular AA batteries (rechargeable preferred & included), software bundle to handle your creations in an organize fashion, easy menu system with LCD to view them and I can go on and on this camera is surprisingly well built and from one of the leaders in photography today. If I had to summarize, the camera is end user friendly and within most peoples budget.Read full review...

Great Second Digital Camera

This camera has outstanding features, the 10x optical zoom works really good.
The display delivers crisp definition and the camera's menu just like some other features is very eazy to master. The only drawback is not having a rechargeable battery pack, it uses AA batteries but they are easy to optain.

I decided to purchase thgis camera for the advantage of having a real fast and strong zoom lens and because it is very affordable . Besides, I never have to worry about running out of charge..

Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 10.0 Megapixel review

I purchased this camera out of neccessity. I sell on ebay and a good camera is essential for photographing auction items. My old 3.7 megapixel fuji finepix 3000 quit working and I needed a GOOD cheap camera. I really like the compact design and high power 10x optical zoom 10MP. It takes longer to transfer images, probably due to file size. I have had some problems with images getting lost during transfers and card formatting. NOT COOL. Although I may have better luck with a different memory card. With all of the features you get, I think it's a pretty good camera for the money. All in all,not unhappy with my purchase.Read full review...

Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 10.0 Megapixel

Nice camera. Chews up the batteries. Gives great pictures though with lots of options. Like a Kodak, it's easy to use. Like all digitals the click to capture speed is a bit slow, even though this is one of the faster ones. Overall a great value for the money. Probably the best for that price.Read full review...

Title gives good info to pull you in & find out more

I really love the advanced capabilities of the Z915 camera, the larger screen and ease of use. I think the camera has wonderful features that I haven't tried yet. It is the next step up for me from my old Kodak. I also love the blue color. The only thing I was a bit disappointed in was the manual. I thought there would be more information for perusal, extra hints, tips and how-tos.Read full review...
