This is my 2nd one. The 1st one lasted just over a full year and I'm hopeful this one does as well; I've only had this one about a month. So far so good. The only complaint against the bulb is, it is slow to come on. But the picture is good after I adjust the color scheme. I will probably buy another in about a year from now.Read full review...

Slightly satisfied
No problems on the install but my Wega TV is quite old. I had never replaced the bulb and TV was quite dark. It had not been in use for a couple of years until I took it over to my parents and set it up in a bedroom. When new bulb was installed there was only slightly difference. Sony wega projector lens
So far, the new bulb is working great. A few things to keep in mind is that this bulb is fan cooled through vents just behind the bulb at the back of the tv. Before installing, clean the refractor lens (look in the hole with a flashlight. It's the glass square way inside). Also clean the fan on the right, the vents behind the fan (back of tv), and clean the whole area where the bulb goes. This dust affects the air flow, thus affecting the bulb life. If your original bulb "popped into broken glass", it likely overheated.Read full review...

Second replacement bulb I tried ( the other was from a different source)
The bulb lasted about 2 to 3 hours when a loud Pop was heard with a puff of smoke. The same happened with another bulb (which was also manufactured in Mexico) The original bulb (9 years old) Still works but the counter for replacement has been reset about 3 or 4 times. I guess "They just don't make them like they used to." We went out and purchased a new TV out of frustration.Read full review...
