Money better spent on buying an entirely new petcock
The gaskets and o-rings in my 1976 Kawasaki KZ400's fuel petcock were completely worn out after 40 years of abuse. I ordered all new rubbers, but this four-holed gasket proved particularly difficult to find. The first one I ordered was too big, and this one, which I ordered second, was also a tad too large. It fit into its recess eventually (with a little bit of grease and luck). It was more flexible than the first one I ordered, which indicated better construction and quality. Nonetheless, once installed, the fit was not perfect and the petcock toggle was difficult to move. It would stick and catch on the gasket, and still leaked slightly. I ended up purchasing a new petcock for $40 - just over what I paid for new gaskets. Your money is better spent purchasing a brand new OEM replica petcock than it is trying to find each replacement OEM part.Read full review...
