Good Collection, but with a cynical twist....

The John Lennon - Collection CD is his standard Greatest Hits Album. Released before in between "Double Fantasy" and "Milk and Honey" its release timing designed to cash in on his recent death, so his estate couldn't even be bothered to wait until after the release of his posthumous final single "Nobody Told Me", a wonderful demo he had recorded with the intention of giving it to Ringo, and would have been a great number for Ringo to record, but that offer was withdrawn for its obvious value following his death, but thats not what irritates me about this collection.....it's the cynical marketing ploy adopted to ensure Lennon fans wanting every track he ever recorded on CD that made this a "must-have" among those who already had all these tracks already....the inclusion of the B-Side of "Stand by Me", a track of B-side quality called "Move over Ms. L" that really grates.....previously only to be heard on vinyl 7", by including it, this album could claim to have material available nowhere else on CD, so that upped the sales, lowered the tone, and ensured the far from cash-strapped "Ms. L" made even more out of this collection.....and what on earth has a B-side, not even considered good enough to make the cut for inclusion on a regular 12" vinyl record doing on a "Greatest Hits" album ? One draws the conclusion it could only have been motivated by greed, which was never Lennon's style.
