This is a daily devotional book that is written as if Jesus, Himself, were speaking, followed by scriptures to look up and read. The content is so inspiring and particularly helpful when the reader is going tough times!! This book makes scripture easy to understand and opens up a desire to read the Bible. Amazing devotional book that will change your life!!

My wife and I received this book from my mother, who read it a year earlier and became convinced that the words therein were divinely inspired and has since been distributing the book to her family and friends who she believes could benefit.

We started the devotionals from Jan 1, 2019 and throughout the year, both of us began to have changes in our lives -- in our spiritual selves. My wife began talking to Our Lord in ways she never had before, and I came out of a 12-year rut in which I pretty much lived as a person devoid of spiritual health to the point that I now talk with my creator as though he is always present. .

Both of our lives have been changed and impacted profoundly, and our relationship with our Lord is stronger than it has ever been in either of our lives. I strongly suggest that you get this book and spent the little 5-10 minutes of contemplative prayer and meditation on the topics presented. There are workbooks that go along with the text itself, but they are not necessary to begin your transformation. They are, however, great for those who wish to go deeper and deeper with their relationship with Jesus.

Since they are affordable, we are now buying a few of them to keep on hand and give as gifts to those who we encounter that desire a closer relationship with Him -- the same way that my mother distributes them.

Listening to Jesus Speak by a Heartbroken Sister

Jesus Calling by Sarah Young is the absolute best devotional I have ever had. What I love about it most is that it is written in third person, so it reads as though Jesus is speaking directly to you. It makes my quiet time with the Lord so much more personal.

My brother was killed suddenly and tragically on October 21, 2010 in a train/truck accident. I was mad at God! I just couldn't read my Bible for a few weeks. A beloved elder of my church told me it was okay to be mad at God for awhile, and if I couldn't read my Bible, to just sit quietly and hold it in my hands while praying. During this time of great sorrow, I read more in this devotional and received more comfort than I can say.
