Pretty good, but not out of the park.
For the price, this is a nice WiFi adapter. Windows 10 recognized this USB device as soon as it was plugged in. So I did not need to use the install disk. In use, it works well, but have discovered that it cannot stream HD video without issues, as least on my older i5 computer. I checked by connecting a network cable directly to the PC and the problem disappeared. So this adapter went back in the box, and I purchased an ASUS PCE-AC51 PCIe wireless adapter. Doubled my Wi-Fi speed (SEE UPDATE) Don't install software from CD

I recently started using a new wireless gateway and it has 2.4G and 5G signals. I get about 40mbps over wifi using my old Belkin wireless adapter that only sees 2.4G. I wanted to take advantage of the 5G signal so I purchased this item. I am happy to report my speed test shortly after installing this is now in the 80mbps area.
Windows 10 recognized the unit as soon as I plugged it in as a Realtek wireless network adapter in the device manager. I decided to go ahead and install the software that came with it and it is actually pretty nice with all kinds of statistics and monitoring available. I can easily recommend this unit.
UPDATE: After working well at first it now randomly stops working. Unplugging and reinserting fixes it every time. I can no longer recommend.

Not even close to advertised speed.
I have 100 meg speed from spectrum. Wired connection I get over that consistently. With this wireless usb adapter I get between 20 and 25 on 2.4g band and what's really weird is the 5g band is slower 10 to 15. I have an intel 7260 ac half mini card installed in my asrock z87e itx mini itx board and I don't see any difference in speed with that. This uses a Realtek 8811cu chip. I guess I'm not surprised, you get what you pay for. But this doesn't even come close to the advertised speed. It'll work for youtube videos for a kids computer so I'm good.Read full review...

A good value with some flaws
It works, and since I run Linux Mint and not Microsoft Windows, that's NOT a given. On the other hand, I spent a solid week tracking down what I should do to get it working. I had a lesser version of this same thing working under Windows within half an hour, and at a higher speed. I've never had to compile a driver before, either -- a task neither easy nor gladly undertaken.
Also, I chose this model for its "high-gain" antenna in hopes of a signal strength boost. There might be something, but most of the time I can't tell.

5g the easy way
very nice unit, i installed this b/g/n/ac receiver in the pc furthest from my wifi signal, and installed the software . it quickly acquired my 5g and away my daughter went surfin her lil heart out to my relief. i recommend this and windows 7 recognized it straight away. i was able to divide my machines into 2.4 and 5g signals and all is well.Read full review...

Great card, great price, easy to install
This is an extremely easy network adapter to install and set up. This is a great solution for older PC's that only have PCI ports. The only downside to it is that the driver CD isn't a full sized CD. If your CD drive loads in front and doesn't have a tray that comes out you can't use the mini CD. It's also a great network card for older PC's that have built in network cards with RJ45 ports only. Installation hint: If you have an Acer PC, don't disable the onboard NIC in BIOS. Disable the onboard NIC in the Windows device manager. If you disable the onboard LAN card in BIOS, your PC will start back up on it's own after shutdown. This may apply to other makes of PC's as well.Read full review...

I ordered one to give it a try. Even though I was supposed to get up to 100 Mpbs with Comcast, using my computer, I was only getting approx.. 44 Mpbs, now, with the AC600 adapter, I get 119 Mpbs. I assume that if I were to pay for a faster internet connection with Comcast, the AC600 adapter would deliver.

The adapter has good speed and good connectivity without any dropping for my case. Like others say I see slight lagging while watching streaming video but it is not that bad.
