Not turning the music world upside down, but still fun to have.
These will not replace your giant Gens. They will also not replace your mono Auratone. But they are nice easy little speakers to work on when you are close to the screen and you don't have your room treated. Like all speakers, you will figure out what works and you will make balanced/non-irritating sounds the more time you spend with them. For $300 you can't really go wrong. Full sound in a highly portable package.
With these speakers you can expect to get full accurate flat sound for mixing and listening while on the road or in a small office where desk space is at a premium. I use these for demonstrating our video conferencing platform. These iLoud IK Multimedia speakers have a well-balanced clean sound. And they put out surprisingly decent volume levels for their size. Although they have built-in bluetooth, using the supplied 1/8" stereo to RCA phono cable sounds better. Amazing monitors! These little guys blew me away. I didn't expect much from monitors these size, but the clarity is impressive. Highs are clear, mids are full and lows are punchy and crisp. Great near fields for a small studio where space is limited. I have replaced my Mackies HR824 (1st gen) with this speakers. Unbelievable sound for these little ones, connected them immediately and started mixing, they truly sound good. Yes, they’re not 6-8” speakers, however, for their size, they put a great amount of detailed and transparent sound.
