Excellent product - should always be bought when buying an 870 or 500 series
The best part of this item is the for-end grip. T^eh ribber gives a much better grip, prevents sweaty hands slipping, and is made of high quality materials.
I buy these for all my 870s and Mossberg 500 series. My favorite shotgun and my favorite add-on. All the pistol-grip and super tactical stuff is nonsense. Keep it traditional and keep it simple and easy to control.
The only other modification I would do would be to add a magazine extension and clamp. Measure the distance from the threading of your mag tube opening to the end of your barrel. That will give you a good idea on which extension you need. Also helps you find the right length for the right look. I like my mags and barrels flush.

Hogue 870 stock w/forend
This was a real disappointment. The buttstock/recoil pad is only an inch wide. It's like shooting a woodstock shotgun without a Recoil Pad at all. The factory buttstock has a Recoil Pad at least 1 3/8 inches wide. Makes a big difference. Good design, Very Poor Execution.

Good quality product, but it's my fault that I didn't know it was made in Mexico, instead of the USA.
I'm an old retired guy, but this is the first Hogue product I've ever purchased. I was mistaken in assuming that all Hogue products were made in the USA, but at least it's made in the Western Hemisphere.
