The story picks up after the success of famed, legendary Director Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" starring Cary Grant. Hitch is being consumed for the "next" project, a novel about a true story about a serial killer.

But Mr. Hitchcock( Anthony Hopkins) tries to get his bosses at Paramount Studios to give him the financing to make the movie about this serial killer. The Studios balk, with seemingly convincing reasons for not wanting to put such a story that might turn off cinema-goers.

So Hichtcock decides to finance the movie "Psycho" himself, and his wife, Alma( Helen Mirren) assists Hitch with re-writes, casting decisions, Directing, and other Production details.

The marriage of the Hitchcocks has some ups-and-downs when Alma is weary of Hitch's wandering eye of the talent he seems to hire( he loved icy blondes), and Hitch is concerned over extra time Alma spends with a writer.

Alfred Hitchcock was a film director genius but also a deplorable womanizer. Hopkins and Mirren give truly inspiring performances as "Hitch" and Alma. A must-see film.

great movie sir anthony is brilliant Talent through out will watch this dvd often I think Mr Hopkins is one of the most dig deep down in his role and transforms himself into the character
