Hisense Chromeboot

Well built, light weight, good size screen and keyboard. The keyboard gives good feedback while typing and the start up is one of the quickest I have seen. I own tablets and laptops a chrome book is a combination of the two, more productive than a tablet, slightly less than a laptop. The only thing missing is a front facing camera and the speakers while serviceable aren't great. Overall the Hisense chrome book is very useful, the setup is quick and allows the user to be productive.Read full review...

I am a Senior that wants a keyboard . This was for travel.

Im sbout 60. I cant type with my thumbs. I prefer email over texts. My 4 other notebooks are 15 inch.
I bought my first chromebook a month before buying this hisense. it was a 15.5" Acer. Light and very fast. I drank the coolaide. The windows computers cost 4 times and much , are 4 times a slow, and weigh twice as much. for 5% of what I do, photo shop, turbo tax, using some forms, i stick with the windows. For 90+ % I like chromebooks.
Now specifically to the 9" Hisense. This littler bugger is for when i travel, althought now at my office typing this, i chose it over my HP becuase I open it and its read to rcok. No waiting. 10 hour battery life ! ! I bought a new battery for my dell and its under 3. Also, there is NO FAN blowing on my leg all the time....it does not heat up and slow down.
quality is good. i researched it a bit..i watch youtube and read Amazon reviews. My Only complaint is on this 9" I do lots of typo's because it is not a full size keyboard. If you dont travel with one, get the 15". For $100. I bought this just for vacations , or anytime really I leave the house or office. WARNING about all these chromebooks, they are different .. the delete is alt back space and a few things I do not like because I am old. I recommend this little Chineese notebook. For $100 it is money well spent..

great for basic internet browsing

I bought 2 of these units from another website but love the unit.

One was purchased as a gift the other to have a lightweight laptop for my travels. I didn't want to have to worry about malware and virus threats and this fits that because of the os. I love having this next to me while watching TV since it is quick, as all the real work is done by the cloud computer and this just is a display of the work. I can look up product information, make a quick purchase on Amazon or ebay or any other retail website.

My biggest complaint is that there is no delete key. There is a backspace but no delete. Next problem is that the touch pad has only a left click no right click side. This obstacle is solved with the use of a mouse so it isn't unbeatable obstacle. All the standard right click options, cut copy delete and spell check selections are there.

I gave the second unit to my grandson to use for an online educational program he uses for school. Since the laptop is just "dumb terminal" it is as fast as your internet connection so responses are fast.

Work can be saved locally to a flash drive and with the right file system explorer can be saved to the home network. I am sure there are more uses but this is what I use it for and am glad I made the purchase.

Remarkable Performance; Affordably Priced

I actually have no idea what some of these reviewers are referring to, claiming that the "Name Brand" Chromebooks are superior to this Hisense. I also have an Apple 11" Airbook, which I virtually never use anymore because this Hisense performs so much better. It has a faster startup, vastly more ports for connecting just about any type of peripheral device one can think of, has a far better battery life than the Apple, not to mention that it is also far more durable. (If you happen to drop an Apple Airbook, 90% of the time you'll be looking for a replacement....not so with this Hisense) I have so much respect for this device that I have purchased 4 or 5 of them to give away as gifts, which I found on Woot, which were refurbished for which I paid $89.00 each. I have been using laptops for over 15 years, and have never, ever found a device that has a higher performance per dollar quotient than this little masterpiece of streamlined technological diversity.....which is affordably priced.Read full review...

I like it

I have been wanting a chrome book for some time. I have been a little reluctant in buying one from a brand that I am not familiar with. But once I took the chance to try it, I absolutely love it. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking at getting one.Read full review...

Only Problem is Flickering Screen

I love it except for the fact that after 7 months of intermittent use the screen flickers when I adjust the angle. I think the wiring starts to short out after the chrome book has been opened and closed numerous times. It's just a matter of time before I lose the screen and I'll be looking at a pretty costly repair unless I attempt to fix it myself. If Hisense corrects this issue going forward, this will be the best deal for the money, in my opinion.Read full review...

Good price

Set up was a breeze. The only problem is I had to recover operating system within hours of using it. No problem to fix if your tech savvy.

Mediocre Chromebook

This computer slowed down quite a bit after a few months, and its performance continued to deteriorate after that. I have been using it for about 1.5 years. Sometimes it is not only slow but actually freezes when I have more than a few tabs and a PDF or two open. The PDF reader crashes regularly when I watch videos with PDFs open. The screen also sometimes goes grey, and I have to close and reopen the computer or even restart it to get the screen working again. Given that I only paid about $90 for a refurbished Hisense, the performance might be considered satisfactory overall. But don't pay more than that -- it's not worth it.Read full review...

Good laptop

If you’re looking for a reasonable laptop that’s light and easy to use I suggest this one. It’s the right price and is reasonably fast.
