Good game, good interface and gameplay but a few bugs

This is a good game with better graphics and animation than the first H&D. Some of the scenes like the one inside the submarine for example, are very good and so are the scenes inside buildings, etc. The interface is good once you're used to it (having the cheat codes help).
My only gripe is that there are a few bugs. For example when your team mates (bots) are crawling together, they get tangled up and one even ends up hitching a lift on the other soldier's back! I'm sure that there must be a patch to fix this problem though.
All in all, a complex exciting game with good animation and 3D scenery that thrills, especially when you manage to complete a mission successfully. With practice the game gets easier to control and becomes more enjoyable. (Good hint: Be patient and careful throughout mission and don't forget to hit F4 every so often to save).
Historically this game depicts the era very well and is quite convincing.
I've only completed 3 missions so far and look forward to the next with excitement.
Recommended to those that like to use a bit of intelligence with their firepower.

Hidden & Dangerous 2 (PC)

I bought this game because it was a blast to play when i owned it (i lost it 3 years ago.) if you are one that only loves shooters like call of duty in which there is a set path and it is all run and gun, do not buy this game. if you want a tactical experience in which you need to plan your moves and actions, set up assualts and ambushes, and get a feel for what war is realy like, look no further. this game is so cool because there are multiple was to accomplish a mission. if you wanna try and be rambo, good luck, you won't last long. be smart, position your men carefully, and command them to not fire until you do, for example, and you can then surprise all the bad guys. even use stealthy charachters (every solider you can command has ups and downs) and sneak up behind an enemy and kill them, even cut through fences to get behind the lines before your other guys assualt the obective. you can even make enemies surrender to you (if you get lucky and surprise them) and take their uniforms and lurk around without other enemies getting alarmed. it's great for when you can catch a far off badguy, capture him, and then do some recon with causing an alarm. this game is great. the action can range from slow and stalky to rough and furious. you play it the way you want, but i'll tell you, there is nothing more fun than being stealthy and kickin some ass. this is a great buy for 3.99, and a game that can be played over and over. again, alot more realistic than call of duty, but nevertheless and excellent FPS, or 3rdPS. it's a pretty long game too, and what makes it even longer is all the ways you can play it. just buy it, it's great.Read full review...

Rather Good

Ever since I bought Hidden & Dangerous 2, I've used it as a measuring tool against other World War II shooters. And it rates better than most I've seen yet. The graphics are very well-done, with well-done uniforms, weapons, blood, and effects. With most missions in "open" 3d environments (as compared to exteremely linear games, such as EA's Medal of Honor), H&D 2 allows you room to maneouver your squad to flank the enemy, if that's your strategy. It also has a decent variety of era weapons... all the common ones you've played with in other games (STEN, Thompson, Garand, BAR, K98, MP40, MP44, Springfield 1903, M1919, MG42, time-delayed fuse grenades, impact fuse grenades, Flak cannons, M1911, P08, M1 Carbine, Bazooka, Panzerfaust) as well as a few others that you may have not (BREN, ZB26, AP Mines, AT Mines, Type 91 MG, Flakveirling (a mounted flak cannon with four guns), Enfield bolt-action, De Lisle Commando Carbine, magnetic mines, SAS Fairbairn-Sykes Dagger, German Fighting Knife, Arisaka Meiji 38, Taisho, Spagin, PPS-43, Mosin-Nagant, DP1928, a few more), but is short on Japanese man-carried automatic weapons, there aren't any in H&D 2.

What I like best is the interface, though. If you kill that guy over there, you can use his weapon if you like, you can pick his body for ammo, keys, documents, (other mission-useful/essential items), and then pick it up and hide it somewhere (though hiding it is generally useless, because he'll have left a pool of blood beneath his corpse). And the same goes if you capture somebody (yes, they DO surrender, especially if you scare the wits out of them or shoot their weapon out of the hands), you can pick his body (you can't move him once captured, though) for whatever, and even steal his uniform and use to sneak about (though you have to go into full disguise... wearing a British ruck or having a Garand in your hands won't fool them) without getting shot up!

Another thing I like is the fact of more "vehicle control realism". In many games, when you hop into a tank, you are driving it and controlling, loading, and firing the turret, all at the same time. In reality, that's a little difficult to. In H&D 2, you climb in as the driver, then you can drive and that's it. You climb in as the loader, you control the Machine Gun, Gunner controls the main gun, and Commander just sits there, perhaps commanding.
You can also steal German deuce and a halfs and Kubelwagens, Drive Jeeps (With and without M1919 MGs), and take a German halftrack for a spin, or drive the Panzer Aus III, Sherman M4 tank, or the King Tiger II.

If you have an older system (as in 2000 to 2002), you might see a little trouble with the frame-rate, but it's usually not enough to stop you from winning the war (though when it does slow down, it's usually in a firefight, so it might cost some lives if you don't cheat or don't save like crazy).

All in all a good game. I like it better than any of the Medal of Honor series I've played (though it is, admittedly, a good series), online play is pretty good... not entirely unlike BF 1942... but I've found it enjoyable... and Challenging. It's expansion is a boon for it... Online COOP missions are fun!

Collectible

One of the best WWII game which is a bit realistic. For the graphics, it's from 1992. So wouldn't dare comment on that. But I bought it as a collection and sheer pleasure.
