Best phone I have had to date!

This is my 4th touch phone, 3rd one by HTC (Touch, Touch Pro) and 2nd Android one (Samsung Moment). I was looking to get the Iphone 4 but after looking playing with it for a bit and then this one, it was clear to me that this was the hands down winner for many reasons. To be honest, the price was the biggest reason (wanted unlocked one) but besides that, the size of the screen, the sturdy feel of it and the touch aspect being so close to that of the Iphone 4 all played major roles for me.

It is a bit bigger than any other phone I have had but I am getting used to it. I just remember that the easy to read screen is the reason why. I used to own an Ipod Touch but since this phone can not only handle a 32 GB micro sd card but also can perform as well on the touch aspect, I ended up getting rid of the Ipod. I am using this as both my phone and mp3 player. So far, the battery is handling pretty well but still have to charge once a day. I have ordered the larger battery but have not yet received it.

The accessories for the phone are quite numerous. I ordered 2 cases and settled on the Monaco Aluminum one as my primary. It has already done its job as I just dropped my phone yesterday for the 1st time on my cement walkway and no damage was done to the phone itself. The case sustained minor damage on one corner but only on the surface.

Overall, very pleased with all aspects of the phone and the amount of apps and accessories available for it.

Pretty good phone with excellent camera.

Overall, this is a good phone to get me through until I can buy an iPhone. It's a step up from the Nexus S, which is what I've been using for the past year. The EVO has more storage and a much better camera. In fact, the camera on this phone is better than my point-and-shoot digital camera, so I probably won't be carrying that around anymore. This isn't the latest EVO and I bought it used, so there are some things it can't do, but overall I'm very happy with it. It would have even more storage if 1) more Android developers allowed their apps to be moved to the SD card and/or 2) Sprint didn't pre-load the phone with so much garbage. The phone came with a NASCAR app and two games that I will absolutely never use, along with YouTube and TWO Facebook apps, none of which can be removed or even moved to the SD card. But, that's a carrier issue, nothing to do with the phone. Overall, I really like this phone and I definitely think it will get me through until next spring when I can get an iPhone.Read full review...

An Excellent Phone A Year Ago And A Decent Phone Today...for $200 or less.

I've had an Evo since the day they were released. The features are excellent, and once you learn the device it is so very easy to live with. Again, once you learn the phone, you can get decent battery life out of one and if you root it and use the right ROM/Kernel combo you can get exceptional battery life. However, it is almost a year old, was out-performed (but not out featured) in 6-months by the Evo Shift, and is positively humbled by other phones available and about to be available. With the Nexus S 4G out and the Evo 3D about to be released, spending more than a bargain amount (anything over $200) for an Evo at this time is just foolish. However, it is a very nice phone and though mine has issues, I do not regret getting one at all.Read full review...

Great phone, needs some more advanced features though!

I love being able to speak my text messages and the phone is very easy to use. I bought the phone because I really wanted a change from my blackberry and my sprint upgrade wasn't available until November so this allowed me to get away. I dislike the battery life but I bought two extra batteries so I can always swap out when I'm low. The android operating system on this phone is old and there is no way for me to update it without rooting the phone which I don't want to do. I also don't like the call quality, it is very hard to hear other people on calls. Overall though I like the phone, it does its job just wish I could delete the sprint installed apps without rooting it.Read full review...

Very Nice Phone

1st lets get the bad stuff out of the way: Battery Life is Pretty bad.
Screen is made of glass, so if you drop it: you may very easily break the screen.
Power Button on top of the phone is not very easy to turn on; sometimes you have to push it a couple times to get the phone to come on. Same with the volume buttons: sometime they are not that easy to push.
Ringer could be louder

Next, Phone responds very quickly to commands.
Voice Functions are impressive. I can TXT while driving again because the phone interprets my voice and turns it into TXT.
Takes great pictures.
Fast with data in 4G mode.
Kickstand is very cool.
Screen is extremely easy to read: I no longer have to use my glasses to read the phone like I did with my last 2 phone. (This big screen is so cool.)

Best Andriod Phone and Best Sprint Phone PERIOD!

The Sprint HTC EVO 4G phone is definitely the best phone I've ever used. I've used every Sprint HTC phone that they have ever provided from windows to android versions, and this is by far the best. It exceeds other competitors phones like the Iphone.

First of all, the phone has a large screen. No other phone except the Driod X can compete with the screen size. Well, there is the HD2, but that's running on windows base os and is horrible. Second of all, it had 2 cameras, front and back. It has 4G capabilities where most phones don't.

Android on the other hand compliments this phone very well. We get free navigation, where Iphone don't. We have much more free apps that we don't need to pay for. Also the phone is more powerful and can do things that the Iphone can't, unless jailbroken.

Speaking of jailbreaking, our phones can be jailbroken/rooted. After doing so, you can expand the capablities of the phone. I've installed custom roms, custom layouts and skins. I've also done extensive battery tweaking with kernels and updated the software to the newest builds of android 2.2. No need to wait for sprint to update the software. Also my phone is much faster than stock and battery last over 30 hrs per charge because i've rooted the phone and installed custom software.

Get this phone. Definitely would not let you down.

Great value for the money. Wish it had longer battery life.

Pretty good phone. I actually do not like touch screen phones (I used to have a black berry) but this phone has been great. The only thing I have had problems with is the camera (won't work at times), the widgets (don't work properly at times), and the battery life. When I had my blackberry, it could stay charged all day. This phone has to but hooked up to the charger every few hours it feels like. I think this phone is good for anyone that wants to move from BlackBerry's operating system but does not want and iPhone. I am not an Apple fan. I feel like this phone functions just as well as the iPhone.Read full review...

NOT GOOD PHONE. THIS FUNK JUNK!

I do believe in all probability, that the HTC phone when first came out for the first maybe 3 months, was at the top of its class. First four G for Sprint that came out. I imagine they were proud of it, but it is a heavier phone and more than likely it was one of the first ones that you could turn sideways to look at the whole screen. there is a kick out on the back of the phone that is like a lever and it will prop the phone up to watch the phone horizontally. That I did find very convenient. As for the picture resolution it's like a conventional TV then a plasma TV and also an HDTV, then you have your 4K TV. It's comparable to a plasma TV in the picture quality lineup. the the processor works very slow it takes a long time to load at any point. and then when you update and then when you update that is also a drawn-out process that seems to last forever. The buttons and icons little bit confusing at first, but then you get the hang of it and then you realize that the IT department at HTC must have been on vacation with their brains , because it sure is a very ill created and slow setup. and the battery life isn't too long, but I don't know why. I do know that when the phone is shut off it drains the battery dead when the phone is off. Even when you have location and everything shut off, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and various other programs. So I do not recommend buying one of these used phones unless you just want to use it to hold to your other phone or if you using your other phone for something else you can use the HTC to watch YouTube. But it really took me back aways and I had to laugh when I seen some of the applications in there and one of them that was burnt into the memory was Blockbuster Video. That was a hoot and a hell of a laugh!!! There are some programs in there that are obsolete and some that will not update. It does have a security update and it does do a firmware update, but that's about it. It will not run Google Chrome, live. Me and a few various other programs. It does a good job with maps though and Street view. I would not buy one of these phones unless you just want to use it every once in awhile maybe to watch YouTube possibly. It has a slow responding processor that maybe in the day was fast for a processor. I am very happy with my v20 by LG though it's quick as heck and takes beautiful pictures and videos. Watch out for the LG v20 also. My charge port went bad got real hot and burnt me, got a replacement phone because I had insurance and it was less than 30 days. Then the new one they gave me, the touch screen went bad, so they issued me a another v20. then one day I laid my phone down after using it and then I picked it right back up and it had a lock out on it that's it redo the tap pattern to unlock phone. Well I never set up a tap pattern so I tapped and tapped in Tapped. Wrong thing to do erase the data lock the phone. Verizon would not give me a new phone Google was not cooperating. Needless to say I was out of phone from a Wednesday till the Thursday of the following week. then I finally got ahold of Google and John there was very friendly and very very helpful. He says where did you get the phone, I said bought it brand-new it Verizon. He said brand new?, I said yes well they had to replace it a couple of times about this my fourth one, first one charging port got hot, second one it's touch screen went bad and this is my third one I'm on. He then asked me says what is your email? I told him what it was. He responded, and this is a new phone that you got? I said yeah it was replacement they said it was a new phone. He said sorry to tell you but that's a refurbished phone and not a new one and that is the reason you cannot get into it because your email does not match whoever had the phone first. I said well they told me that this was a store demo or something and it was a new phone that was never used. He said sorry to tell you again sir, that is a used refurbished phone, and I cannot give you the password. I was Furious! I called Verizon back maintaining what little patience I had, they made me hard reset it, that did not work still would not accept my email. They shipped me another phone with a new SIM card got it next day. That one worked the other one was not refurbished properly.. then I noticed that the phone I have now had a few minor scratches on it on back cover and I called Verizon back and ask him if this was a brand new phone and not a use refurbished one like they sent me. They says refurbished because that is what LG does if your new phone goes bad. I paid almost $750 for this new phone, and they're giving me a used refurbished one instead of replacing it with a new one and still charged me full retail price and the warranty does not begin over again either. just watch out for Verizon trying to give you used one for new price. I'm still fighting them and I will till the endRead full review...

1 like it because it is htc new hit , windows mobile

-Fantastic integration with all things Google (Maps, Gmail, Google Voice, etc.), Social Networks (Friend Stream is amazing), and GPS.
-Call quality is excellent.
-WiFi works very well.
-Touch screen is VERY sensitive and fast. Could be Pro or a Con.
-Videos are unbelievably large and crisp on this thing - no other phone comes close yet.
-Has lots of options and customization features.
-An 8 Megapixel camera AND HD video camcorder (!) surprisingly good quality for a phone.
-Does eBooks very well (need free eBook reader).
-Android app market is huge and growing fast. Downloads and installs are super simple and fast.
-Everything about this thing is just fast.
-Casing/back doesn't show fingerprints or lint much at all (screen is another story, see below).

Fantastic phone to buy used- just not worth a new price!

The only complaint I have is that the battery dies so quickly. Since it has a micro usb charger, I took my old phone's charger to work to plug my phone in while I'm there, and I always keep my phone plugged in in the car. It's not a terrible tradeoff.
I came from a webOS phone, the Palm Pixi, and I honestly don't know if I'll go back. The OS is so different, but I'm still deciding which I like better. They both have features that I don't want to trade- HTC being the numerous apps, the sleeker design, the faster processor, and webOS the card system. I REALLY do miss the cards.
All in all, a fantastic phone for the price I paid! I would NEVER fork out full price for a brand new phone, but a gently used one is great!
