HP 6110

This unit gives the buyer a LOT for the money. New is less than $200. Used was around $75. Fax, print, copy and scan...everything your home office needs to function. I just bought another (used, as they dont make them anymore) as mine finally had an issue. The rollers wore out, but only after 6 years of pretty steady use. The other good thing, the ink cartridges that this unit uses are readily available and on the cheaper end of the spectrum. With some other units, the ink alone will kill you ! But not the case here. Ive been extremely satisfied, which is why I sought out another used one, rather than going with the 'new' HP version. My only complaint is that the copy function is a bit slower than I would prefer.Read full review...

Decent Design, But Not Durable for Small Office Use

Likes: Good features, relatively easy to use, and dependable performance for a while. Printing quality not bad for a multi-function machine. Large ink cartridges, which are not too expensive if you buy knock-offs.

Dislikes: Slow to get started for some functions. Does not hold up under more-than-casual use, so I don't recommend it for a real small-office environment.

This is the third HP printer I've owned and probably the last. The engineering and design is fine, but the company is using cheaper and cheaper components with each successive generation, presumably to stay price-competitive. The result is that the machines just don't last very long any more. The ADF tray broke fairly early on, so I have to hold it up with one hand to ensure that it feeds properly (although it never was very good at feeding multiple documents one-at-a-time.) The output tray broke later on, which resulted in my output being spit out on the floor. I spent $17 to replace that. Now the inside of the flatbed glass is fogged up so my scans are lousy. Unfortunately, the part is not serviceable, so HP's response is to try to sell me a new model at a discounted price.

I need a machine that will survive regular small-business use (I also have a laser printer, so I don't use the inkjet for high-volume B&W printing. I've just ordered a Canon MP830. We'll see if it can keep me happier over a longer period than HP.

HP Printer 6110

HP has a great reputation for injet and laser printers. The 6110 model has been out awhile and is dependable, easy to use, and provides good quality reproduction for the price. I did not hesitate to buy a used model due to the above and have not been disappointed. Being an older model it does not have the LCD display of the newer models, so the amount of information on diagnostics, print status etc. is not the same.Read full review...

Bought another one!

This multifunction machine is very good.
I have owned the same model for several years and been satisfied with it.
I bought this one because the old one had a habit of stopping and complaining about things that weren't wrong with it.
Since the warranty was up, HP wanted to charge me for tech support.

Now, some would say, why get another one? I had recently purchased a lot of cartridges - which are expensive - and while this is not the best machine on the market (and I would love - love! - to have a color laser machine), I don't NEED one that is better. At the price of $95. I couldn't possibly be sorry.

Now, the machine:
PRO:
Does it all
Can be networked
Has flatbed scan and copy
Color is reliable
Print speed is adequate
Tech support from HP was always helpful.

CON:
Not real quiet
Shelf for copied pages is rickety
Copies are not laser (don't get them wet)
Have had a hard time getting the Fax to work on Receive

HP 6110 Multifunction

Small home office, usually use all functions during the course of a day.
Mine is a refurb from eBay about 2 years ago. I've liked it, but about a month ago, several clients called up to ask why I haven't replied to their faxes. I've been sending faxes all along, these seem to go through - no problem. Now I find inbound faxes are no longer getting through.
The problem seems to be the fax function won't answer an incoming call. I've tried ringing my own fax line - no response. Another older fax machine was brought in from storage and asked to fax a test page to the 6110 - likewise no answer.
I know we have a throw-away society, but this ought to be an easy fix - go figure: it's not!

Good Photo Copier

I decided to buy it because I have the same brand and model at my office. I needed something similar for home, this way I will use the same type of cartridges. I was pleased with the performance of my old one. It has features like power save and it is very easy to use. The used one that I bought through Ebay is as good as the first one that I bought brand new.Read full review...
