Fabulous Value!
I could not be happier with this guitar. I own many guitars, and there's few that provide the value for the money as this Guild DS-240. The build quality is excellent, with the top being as beautiful as any I've seen. The mahogany body has a gorgeous finish on it, and the inside bracing is clean and free from glue mess. The sound hole ring has a nice block inlay, and the scratch guard is a nice flowing shape, that compliments the slope shouldered body shape.
Tone is bright and powerful, with an accent on the mids and high end sparkle, but is not boxy or boomy sounding. The neck is a pleasant narrow D shape, and feels comfortable all the way up to the body joint. I can pay past the 14th fret with ease due to the flattened heel which allows for a comfy hand grip.
The head-stock is a subtle yet functional size, without being oversize and throwing the balance like many Epiphones and other guitars in the Guild line. The neck is also a smooth satin finish that doesn't get sticky when playing outdoors or when one's hands are sweaty. The tuners are classic open back, lending a classic look of it's pre-war forebears.
Overall I give this guitar an A++ and would not hesitate to recommend or purchase another one. In fact I want to buy another before the price goes up!Read full review...
