Graphtech TUSQ XL nut for Epiphone's made after 2014.

According to Graphtech's website, this nut is made for Epiphone guitars that were made after 2014. The Graphtech Epiphone style nut for Epi's made before 2014 (PQL-6060-00) won't fit post-2014 models as the nut slots don't sit high enough. This is the perfect alternative for qualifying Epiphone guitars. It completely alleviated the binding and tuning stability issues I had with the D and G strings. The part number for this nut is PQL-6061-00.Read full review...

It may work for some but I had issues with 2 different nuts.

I purchased my Epiphone ES-335 pro brand new in March of 2019. The Item #6061 is for guitars made post 2014, so this should have worked. I had to file so much off the bottom of the nut that when it was sized to spec it would rotate over in the nut slot. I thought OK I'll order the #6060 item that is for pre 2014 and try that. #6060 fit very well and I only had to sand the sides very little. The problem on this one was, it wasn't quite high enough and there was only about .001-.002" string clearance from the strings to the fret with the capo on the 3rd fret measured at the first fret. I had to take the nut out and carefully shim it .006-.008" higher to get the proper .006" Hi E and .010 Low E clearances. The slots in the #6060 nut came cut deeper than necessary and that alone would have easily eliminated the shimming. Sound wise, to my ears I can't say that the Tusq nut improved the open string sound. It also didn't help keep the guitar in tune any longer. Read full review...

East installation. Requires very little adjusting....if you buy the correct nut for your guitar.

It fits an Epiphone Les Paul "Plus Top Pro" very well. I sanded the bottom a little bit. Plus, I sanded each end just a little bit because the nut was slightly wider than the original nut. It took me less than 5 minutes to adjust the nut. NOTE: When I was removing the original factory nut, I chipped-off a small piece of lacquer off the face of the headstock... near the truss rod cover. So, make sure to use an Exacto knife or a new razor blade and carefully slide it along the nut to break the seal between the nut and the headstock. Otherwise, you might do what I did. When using the blade, take it slow and easy.Read full review...

Deez….well you know

Bought a new guitar that was manufactured in China. The nut was cut wrong. So I decided to change the nut instead of returning the guitar. The Graph Tech Tusq was absolutely perfect. Guitar plays great, stays in tune. Awesome product!!Read full review...

Clear tone and stable tuning

By far the most stable tuning after installing this nut. Superb tuning stability.

Not sure about "better" tone but definitely "clearer" tone. My guess is the saddle cuts (grooves) are cut perfectly as opposed to factory nut that I removed.

Finally, the pre cut slots being present, cut well and spaced perfectly allowed me to just block sand the bottom, checking height periodically...The front to back thickness required very little sanding to set in the headstock dado groove and very little sanding on the ends to narrow it up to be flush with the neck sides. This 6061 is what you are looking for to solve tuning issues and get a clearer tone. This worked for my Epiphone Les Paul Standard and Epiphone Les Paul Studio PERFECTLY.

There is no easier way or more productive way to DIY on guitar nut issues than this Graph Tech Tusq XL nut. I installed the first one and was back playing in an hour and half. I'm extremely happy.

Better than Plastic!

The Plastic nut on my Epi wore down. These nuts are a definite improvement all the way around!
