Episodes from Liberty City packs a little extra.

Grand theft auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City has two games within it on one disc, it's stand alone and does not require the original Grand theft auto to play. For forty bucks it's just about worth the purchase. Note that if anything, don't buy just one of the episodes over the PSN, you must have both episodes to get the experience because one of the games on their own doesn't justify the fun.

The story line's are fairly short compared to other Grand theft auto games, on both episodes the amount of missions range up to the mid twenty's. The reason for it's low score, each story is told from a different character's perspective during the events of the original Grand theft auto game.

In The Lost and Damned, experience Liberty City as Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost, a notorious biker gang. Johnny finds himself in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of a city torn apart by violence and corruption. Can the brotherhood survive?

The Lost and Damned features similar game play to Grand Theft Auto IV. Additions to the game include new weapons, such as a grenade launcher, Automatic Pistol, half of a pool cue and pipe bombs, as well as sawn-off and automatic shotguns and new vehicles, such as Johnny's custom-made motorcycle. However, his way of handling vehicles is less proficient than the way he handles any motorcycle. You are able to telephone various members of the Lost to provide assistance. Terry, for instance, will drive to a location near to Johnny and sell him weapons and armor, while Clay can deliver a bike of the player's choice to a nearby area. Another addition to The Lost and Damned is gang wars. Once the player has completed a certain amount of them, weapons spawn in either the clubhouse and/or safe house depending on how far the player has progressed in the story, and every subsequent 10 gang wars up to 50, a new weapon will spawn, there are also biker races. The city itself is pretty much the same, little minor and unnoticeable details are within and that's it. There are about five trophy's to obtain and somewhere around forty pigeons.

The Ballad of Gay Tony follows the exploits of a new protagonist, Luis Fernando Lopez, an associate of a Dominican street gang and the personal bodyguard of Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince. The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz and grime. Experience the story of Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince. In my opinion this game is the best out of the two, Each mission give off a good old crazy and wacky vibe of last generation of Grand theft auto games. Like base jumping onto an enemies building, riding on the top of a train, controlling a buzzard (military helicopter) to destruct anything in your path. Guns are similar to The lost and damned but at the same time there are little bit of new ones that are intense like sticky bombs, M60's, P90's and more! Once again there are ten trophy's to work for and extra's like pigeon tracking, fight clubs (become the champ) base jumping (pretty fun to do and challenging) and drug wars (you and your friends steal H from others to improve your business, up to fifty drug wars.)

GTA liberty city

For many people Vice City is the best GTA game to date. While it might not have the scope of the more recent San Andreas, it has atmosphere and style in abundance and remains one of the most entertaining games ever made. GTA: Vice City Stories for the PS3 became a hugely anticipated title, as it would once again let players experience the '80s, and return to that oh so familiar city. The result is a handheld GTA that betters Liberty City Stories, but still falls short of being a classic.Read full review...

worth the wait, even if it was a late title for ps 3

The Ballad of Gay Tony" is colorful, amusing and more characteristic of a typical GTA storyline. As far as mission variety is concerned, "TBOGY" wins hands down. One moment you'll be piloting a high-tech aircraft, the next you're in a speedboat chase, and before long you're parachuting from a skyscraper to escape the police."The Lost and Damned" which features a darker, more involving plotline. It's nothing terribly complex, mostly a series of drug deals gone awry, mixed with gang wars and internal conflicts within your own gang.in addition is the mission checkpoint system, which really cuts down on wasted playtime after a failed mission (i.e. having to take a ten minute drive back to the mission site after every mission failure).Read full review...

Great expansion content for the GTA IV world, doesn't require GTA IV!

Good game, definitely worth buying a used copy on e-Bay for $10 or $15 including shipping. Contains two completely separate stand-alone games that take place in that GTA IV world, and GTA IV is NOT required! There's also some really cool new vehicles and things to do in these two games, including base jumping all around the city and triathalons. Despite the lame name, the Ballad of Gay Tony is actually better than the Lost and the Damned, although both are good and will keep you busy for at least a full weekend to complete them. If you enjoyed GTA IV and haven't picked this add-on up, you won't be disappointed!Read full review...

Great game at a great price!

I bought this game because it is a continuation of GTA IV, which is one of my favorite games. This seems to be a pretty good game too, but I haven't made my way all the way through both parts yet. This game seems way shorter than GTA IV.

* Helpful Hint* If you have the separate edition of GTA IV, you might want to complete it BEFORE you start playing this game. It may cause loading problems and make you start GTA IV all over again from the beginning. In order for me to start where I left off in that game, I had to get the instructions from Sony. Now, everything's cool. If you like the series or are interested in buying this game, I recommend it!

Right in line with GTA IV

Good fun game if your like the GTA games. I've played them all on PC and now on PS3. Decent graphics and very few glitches. A lot of other things to do rather than just stick to story line.

An intesting and fun game but too much violence

Overall this game is fun to play. The graphic is good although some minor glitch do occur sometime. It's jut like being in a big city, you can virtually travel all over the city to find some interesting places like bowling, darts, bars and etc. On the down side, due to the explicit violence in the game, this game is definitely not suitable for teenagers or anyone who has problem distinguishing the virtual world or the reality.Read full review...

GTA

It's just fun to play, keeps you interested, and I think it's a little better than GTA 5 , there's more to do than just driving around trying to find activities in the game.

GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City (PS3)

Excellent gameplay, story, music. Extremely fun to play. You don't need to wait long to be able to get all the weapons or vehicles you want. Its not about hunting items and stocking up on stuff as it is just going out there and releasing as much lead and explosives into computer simulated people. It opens up another side of GTA IV that I felt was left out of the main game (though it was long enough!). The game is CHOCK full of stuff to do, people to meet, and it made my hair on the back of my neck stand whenever I did missions with Niko. Very cool element, the best bang for my buck for these 2 games together. You won't regret it.Read full review...
