Don't think twice it's alright

Reluctant to buy at first but like everyone else I wanted to save $100+. Got it quickly. Although all the original packaging and such was there I noticed thumb prints on the back of the phone so I think they're at least tested. Didn't see any trace of a previous usage otherwise. Works great these past few weeks. Came from a Pixel XL (1st Gen) so the only complaint I have is the size of the keyboard when texting. But the performance and camera is better. Battery performance is slightly better too.Read full review...

A REPAIR NIGHTMARE

While the 3A is a solid functioning phone, it can be virtually impossible to service. The problem revolves around the poor design and cost of the OLED screen used on the phone.

To service the phone, you must remove the display which is primarily three components, glass/digitizer/OLED, and is held into the frame with a fair amount of adhesive. Even using proper heating equipment, it's extremely easy to damage the OLED during the removal process.

The largest problem here being the replacement display price. They're often $70-$110, and you can easily purchase a fully functional used 3A (at the time of writing) for the same price!

If you must service a 3A, use the following suggestion. Before you start, apply 3 glass screen protectors, one on top of the other, to the current display. Especially if the screen is cracked but still functions. It doesn't even have to be for a 3a, just as long as it fully fits.

Doing so reduces the amount of "flex" experienced with the poor factory design. It also reduces additional fragmentation if you're attempting to only replace the outer glass.

This also helps with heat longevity, whether you're using a hot tray, heat pad, or hot air pen.

Regardless, Google could easily followed Apple with this design and used lighter adhesive, hinged upper and two screws on the lower.

Google Pixel 3a phone review.

I went from an old flip phone! I knew all of that flip phones features, but it was 3g and I needed a new phone. I first purchased an Iphone8 but it broke down in 36 hours. So I had a day with that phone and I did not like the sound of the voice of callers, they sounded different than they do in person, just a bit. I would have lived with it. Then, I got this Pixel 3. It also has a great camera! Also google assistant, plenty of storage, I LIKE The fact that it is plastic, it is LIGHTER and the screen won't crack very easily, it still looks like glass and it is not scratching, The sound of my voice and the voice of callers is excellent, better than my flip phone! I can really hear more clearly than the Iphone, Maybe it was in the settings, but I had not found a good setting on the Iphone, and I haven't messed with any of the Pixel 3a settings yet, having to do with the phone. And right out of the box, the Pixel3a was easy to use and sounded better. I have used it only for a week, but it is fine, the battery lasts a long time and it does charge fast. It is just the right size to fit in my front pocket, I loved my flip phone for the fact that it would fit in my front pocket, the 3a does too. The IPhone8+ was a bit too large, too heavy for my front pocket. It has a lot of features, and will play Youtube videos easily and clearly. Music is also clear, just with the internal speakers. I am pleased and would buy this phone again.Read full review...

Great phone for the money.

We bought this phone “Pixel 3a” for my wife. She loves the size and didn’t want a larger phone. So far she loves it. The battery life is really good. The screen is good in bright sun. And the speak has a fairly good level of sound. Good stuff 👍🏾Read full review...

Epic phone for the price!!! Would recommend to family and friends!!!

Life long android user and finally the battery failed on my Google Pixel (1). The size is perfect and not too big for pockets. Little on the slippery side so i added case for protection & grip. Sound quality is Very Good, especially when playing a simple game. Bluetooth works very good. Charging is Very Fast too.Read full review...

Best Phone For Your Money

My last phone got squished into a crepe at my construction job and I needed a new one quickly. I found this one to be not only a steal of a deal, but also brand new! Shipping was fast and I love how easy it was to set up despite not being able to use my previous SD card!!Read full review...

Best option for a spare phone with good camera. Upload to Google photos without a limit in compressed format.

The downsize is the phone is locked to Verizon. I called Verizon and they said the only way to unlock is to use Verizon phone service for 60 days. I took it for a camping trip. The screen color is bad as the screen burn has affected the color accuracy. There are minor scratch on the screen. Battery is virtually unused.Read full review...

Great purchase

Ive had iphones and samsungs, and I love this phone WAAAY more! Intuitive, the volume during calls is much better than samsung - I sometimes have to put my S8 on speaker just to be able to hear people, but not at all the case with this phone. Arrived quickly, and no problems in the 2 weeks of heavy use.Read full review...

Not Really As Described

The “shade” on the display is a distortion that looks like color bars: as if there were black and white bars that are shining through the display. I’m sure someone with more knowledge about the tech could describe better. When I read “shade” I thought the display would be a little dim.

The dust and fingerprints look like it was taken out of someone’s pocket before being put into the ziplock bag for shipment.

It’s basically functional: I’ve been trying to do a security update all day and it never sticks. In an update loop. I’m continually prompted to uninstall and reinstall my work profile. Never had this issue with a Motorola, I’m surprised this happens with a stock Android phone.

If this was $50 I would keep it. That price is worth the crappy display & time trying to figure out the OS/security update issues. $100 is too much.

Awesome phone that takes outstanding pictures

The Google Pixel 3a takes outstanding pictures. The best of any phone I have had. The battery life is OK and will last a day with moderate use.
