Beautiful and very informative! Must for Froud fans.

I have been an admirer of Brian Froud's work for years. I belong to the World of Froud Website. I've been collecting his work for years. I am in the process of replacing some of it because I believe my ex-husband kept some of it. Strangly enough, when we separated, he had no interest in it. Then he "became sweet" on a girl he met on the internet. She was into Brian Froud things, so he bought the Faerie's Oracle, and a few other of his books. That's alright; I'm just glad he was finally able to appreciate Mr. Froud's work.

The pictures in the book are amazingly beautiful, as I expected. I am happy to have more information about faeries. I know that many people believe in angels; so Mr. Froud's explanation about angels being "grown-up faeries" made sense to me. There is another writer that says the same thing. There must be some some truth to this. I am also a collector of Brian Froud's art prints. The first one I bought was "The Faerie of Dark Despair". I have since been able to afford 2 more. (I try to live on disability---I have a bad back with other complications). My eldest son is an artist, and he offered to take "The Faerie of Dark Despair" and matte and frame it for me. Somehow it was misplaced between my two sons, and I hope to find it one day. It was my favorite.

I also have the Faerielands book series. It is a shame that Bantam didn't complete the work with all four books with the Froud illustrations on the sleeve and inside of the last two books by Midori Snider and Terri Windling. I bought them anyway, they were excellent of course; they are talented writers and were inspired by Brian Frouds's work.

There are many Faery artists emerging, and although they are quite talented, no one has yet to compare with Brian Froud's talent. His use of light and color
and many images within each painting draw the viewer's eye into the World of Faery.

I would recommend Good Faeries, Bad Faeries to anyone who loves quality art.
I would love to attend FaeryCon one day, but I live in the Southeast. So I will have to make do with our own Faires that we have within driving destination. I wish that I could afford an airplane ticket. But for now, I am thankful for what I have.

Mr.Froud, I wish you a long and happy life with your lovely wife Wendy, and your son, Toby.

You have brought much joy into my life with your art. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Erin M. Ivins

A beautifully illustrated volume for faerie lovers

I love this book cover to cover! Beautiful vibrant images and descriptions that will bring a smile to your face, maybe even make you giggle. Brian Froud has done it again with this book...For faerie and art lovers alike, this book will satisfy the young and old. It gives you an inside look to the faerie realm, through Brian Froud's eyes. Not just for your entertainment but informative as well. I recommend this book to everyone, with the exception of the very young. Brian Froud is one of the greatest artist I know of. As a fellow artist, I as well as froud appreciate the mortal and immortal form. So with some nudity in the art some parents may want to view the book before deciding to give it to young children. It is not lude or disgusting by any means. It is very tastefully done in a way that most can appreciate. Please do take the time to pick up this book!Read full review...

Good Faeries Bad Faeries

I bought the book because i wanted further information of faeries and I already have Faeries by Brian Froud. I enjoy the way this writer tells us all about the land of the fae. Now I get to learn of the good and the bad. Love how this is truly 2 books in one the way it is seperated is after you finish one book you have to turn it over to read the other...fasinating.. also there is no way I could explain how wonderful Brian Froud illistrates the fae's any one that likes faeries or would love to know more would love this book. I highly recommend this book. Mine holds a proud place in my bookcase. I will have to say I will be reading it over and over that is how wonderful it truly is.Read full review...

Really good quality for a used book.

The book was bought for my wife who has loved fairies since being a little girl, she is very pleased with the quality of the book, though she thinks some of the fairies are a little scary, she hasn't read the book yet, but has looked at the pictures.Read full review...

Classic book on Faeries.

Brian Frouds' "Good Faeries Bad Faeries" was originally published in 1998. It is made in a flip flop style with the Good Faerie stories on one side, flip it over and read the book about Bad Faeries. It has nudity, as faeries don't wear clothes (of course). I don't feel it is rendered as well as his "Faeries" book that was published in 1978. There are more drawings than paintings, and the bad faeries are kinda scary for small children, but it is still fun. I bought it used for reference for fantasy drawings.Read full review...

Beautiful Fantasy Book!

I love this book and its predecessor Faeries by the same author. The pictures are terrific, and most of the pictures are available with lithographs for your wall too. This book is really cool, when you get to the end of the good faeries, you can flip the book upside down to view the bad faeries side. I think it is a perfect5 addition to any fantasy library.Read full review...
