Getting Started with Coding : Get Creative with Code! by Camille McCue (2015, Trade Paperback)

MicroWorld EX is the language. Wish I knew that.

Its good for what it is, a book for microworld EX language. Not python, not scratch, not c+, not assembly, not BASIC.. but microworld EX.
Unfortunately my kids use scratch and I am pushing Python. I paid $4. That is an awesome price for any guide book.
This reads like many of the newer, short, 123 easy books. Meaning its NOT a reference guide. There is NO index and a 32 word glossary that is NOT code but more basic terms like GUI and loop, not a glossary you would use for any coding reference.
The title should be "Getting started with Microworld EX coding" as so ppl know what they are buying if online (which I bought here on ebay).
If you want to start your kids in code I suggest Scratch or BASIC. Basic is nice because the 80's were full of good reference books with full code syntax glossaries which I found crucial when learning as a kid.
MicroWorld EX is not free neither. You just get a 30 day, and there is NOT a version for linux. So its useless to us.Read full review
