Remove Broken Bit

I used the alum powder to dissolve a broken steel drill bit in an aluminum object.
Alum is said to be harmless to aluminum but will dissolve steel.
I mixed the alum with water and submerged the aluminum part in the concentrated alum solution.
I used a Pyrex bowl and turned the oven to 240 degrees.
It worked like a charm. It dissolved the drill bit and left the aluminum alone.
