Very Good Features with Minor Irritants

I golf a lot and need a gps to assist my game. This unit is replacing a Bushnell Neo Plus that has begun to be unreliable. In the past I have used Garmin products for driving , motorcycling and hunting and found them extremely reliable and accurate. This G30 fills the accuracy and reliable ticket very well. Its easy to start and very accurate in measuring distance. I am not tecky and find ease of use very good.There are only two areas of minor annoyance ...1) It is very hard to manually advance or retreat holes. and 2) the screen image is small and difficult for me to read easily. Great GPS but difficult to load.

IF you can figure out how to program it and load the courses, you will like the GPS and its features. The directions were horrible, and I spent a long time on the computer before I got it to work. The screen is great, touch screen works great, easy to use on the course. I would give it five stars if it would load and update easily. Good luck with that.Read full review

Most Useful Golf Gadget

I have a golf gps watch, a laser rangefinder and the Approach G30. I find the G30 most useful of my gadgets to help me play better golf. The user friendly device allows quick appreciation of the next shot to play. The device is especially useful for playing in new and unfamiliar courses as the graphics layout provides sufficient information on what is the next shot to play based on my own capabilities. The ability to check the distance to the hazards as well as layup the next shot to within the 100, 150, 200 and 250 range helps immensely in the course management of the game. Garmin G30 Approach

Easy to use, can set up pin placements, clear screen and small to fit in the pocket. Numbers could be a little bigger for senior folks but not a big deal.
