This long gun case is an excellent value. Perfect for most (non-scoped) small bore rifles and shotguns. You may consider this case for holding multiple handguns as well. This lightweight case has four clasps that work well. Two holes are provided for locks of your choice. On the hinge side of the case are two small molded in feet for upright support on solid and level surfaces. Inside the case are two sheets of convoluted foam of mid-grade density to offer reasonable protection from minor bumps. The added bonus is this case from Flambeau is made in the USA. This is (not) a heavy duty style case that is designed for extreme duty and use. Expect to pay up to three times more for that style of case. Adequate Item

This is not a thick plastic case. The plastic itself is very thin meaning the case could be easily opened with brute strenght should someone wish to enter a locked case. That being said, I simply needed a case that would protect the shotgun from damage and dust during storage. I also used a gun lock on the weapon itself instead of putting a lock on the case itself. So unless the gun lock is cut away from the shotgun, it can not be fired if stolen. All in all, it does the job; howerver, this is not a top of the line carry case by any means.Read full review...

Well worth it for the price

Pretty good case, solid, not the most expensive or highest quality, but VERY solid for the price. Has foam inserts and one of the reviews said the foam isn't attached to the case, which is true. Really easy fix - just a little bit of glue or double sided tape and the foam stays completely intact, so really not worth complaining about.

Its hard plastic, durable, has a hold to slide a lock onto it if you want. I put my Mossberg Maverick 88 pump action shotgun in it and I carried it around in the case and when i opened it, it did quite well holding the gun in place. Well worth the price in my opinion.

Now, let's say you you're a collector and have a $5000 rifle to store..I would recommend getting a higher grade, Pelican-style case. This is great for newer collectors though. I would buy this again.Read full review...

If you want a Pelican/equivalent, get out your check book, buddy.

But if you you want a very worthy alternative that far exceeds just getting the job done, at a price that makes you feel like it was gifted to you, look no further. And a shout out to the engineers, designers, and mold manufacturers behind this. Between the shape of the case, and contrast of the satin and glossy black, it's a classy looking case.

However, it's a tight fit for my .308 with accessories. The scope makes for an adequate but tight width, and the bipod makes for an adequate but tight depth.

Regardless, it fits my gun like tight jeans on a country girl....sexy! OK, maybe that's a bit of an overstatement, but you get the point. My gun is safe, solidly packed, protected, and easy to transport. This case is is definitely worthy of more than five stars. Read full review...

what makes a good gun case is the thickness and quality of the foam. this case has thin low quality foam. it does not hold the gun firmly in place. it allows the gun to move around all over while being carried or transported. this case sells for $15 dollars at the largest brick and mortar retailer in this country, and if you order it here it will come shipped directly from that retailer. talk about a middleman. Does the Job I Needed.

I needed economical, functional carrying cases that gave protection to scoped rifles. These fit the bill. I have purchased 5 of these. You are definitely not getting anything I would trust a TSA gorilla with, but for transporting a scoped firearm from home to a blind, these are adequate. I scored 3 because these are not high quality. In fact, on all 5 of my cases I had to use spray adhesive to mount the foam, both sides were unattached to the plastic, but for what I paid, this was a minor annoyance. The plastic is thin, but rigid enough to withstand normal transportation and provide decent protection. They are functional, not fancy. They do the job, no frills. Good case for the money

I have a number of other cases that have cost more and are the same quality as this one. If you're looking for a case to store you're rifle and transport it in you're care this will do the trick. The only short coming this rifle case has is that it is not weather proof, but for my intended use, that is not enough of an issue to prevent my 5-star rating.
