First Alert SC9120B Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector

Great guarantee from factory

My home builder installed these types of detectors when he built the house 8 years ago. I've had several go bad or simply reach the end of their service life according to the "chirp code" and the company replaced them free without any argument or even proof that I bought or owned them. The original detectors were guaranteed for 7 years, I think, and now the warrantee has expired on all of them. I bought this one as a standby replacement when another one goes on the fritz in the future. These are the exact same model and the new unit plugs into the existing base and turns in without having to replace the old base which makes replacement easier. Replaced a similar First Alert Combination Alarm

Using it to replace a similar item that failed. I can't evaluate it by the star system. When reattached
to the the wall connection and pressing the test button everything checked out. So it works as it should. If it continues to work for seven plus years I'll be happy.

Absolutely love these things. Kills two birds with one stone per say!

These units are obviously great quality as expected from BRK & First Alert. Having hardwired units is the only way to go. These have the combo Smoke & o2 sensor/alarms. They come with a dust cover/bonnet as you will see in my first picture. Great for when doing any remodeling. Keeps dust out so as not to damage the sensors. I even recommend holding on to these in case you need them after initial install!
Easy as pie to install and so far have operated flawless. I highly recommend these units and purchasing them in a multi-pack here rather than in store. Way cheaper this way. Great Quality, Great Value. They are a must in our house for safeguarding my family for sure!Read full review

Great alarm for interconnected systems, but know how to do household wiring to code.

Easy to install, easy battery change. Requires 120 volts and 14-3 wire to power and interconnect. On new installs, you’ll want to have an electrician do it as it requires household power and wiring.

The BRK SC9120B Smoke and Carbon monoxide combo alarms work great. They do have a life expectancy of about 5 years and need to be replaced periodically. First Alert combo smoke/CO alarm

Nice alarm, easy to install when replacing previously hardwired alarm. Looks identical to First Alert smoke alarm, so matches other alarms in the house. When buying on eBay, be careful of sellers mistakenly listing a regular smoke alarm as a combo smoke/CO. I had two sellers make this mistake. Check the model number. The combo is SC9120B.
