Rarities The Jam

CD is chock full of great songs,demos,B-sides and a few covers. The Jam are the premier band of the punk/new wave era from 1977-1983...Forget about The Sex Pistols or The Clash, these three guys,Paul Weller(guitar, lead Vocals)Bruce Foxton(Bass,Vocals) and Rick Buckler(drums) are far and above the best songwriters, live band or iconic figures from this great time in music history.I suggest this energenic, electrifying group to anyone who loves fast paced, clever, well written music and lyrics.Grab a DVD too, these guys light up a stage and their fans are the most loyal you'll find.Trust me,The Jam are just that Great!!Read full review...

The Pleasures of Extras

This compilation did not dissapoint. As a fan of the Jam's albums and singles i was drawn to this collection in hopes of finding more of the same great music, but there was so much more. The b-sides, The Butterfly Collector and Tales From The Riverbank especially, are essential, the covers, especially Move On Up, were inspired, the demos from Setting Sons put the songs in a whole new light and the alternate versions, Boy About Town in particular, were as good or better than the more well known ones. All in all for any one familiar with the Jam will find Extras entertaining and interesting.Read full review...
