Pluses: works very well with Linux, cheap ink, reliable. Minuses: the printing head is part of the printer, rather than ink cartridge, and thus it is harder to unclog when the ink dries out.

Epson C-88+ printer is a game changer for first day cover cachet printing!
I have been using this ink-jet printer for over ten years and still find them on the after-market, but not in the stores. It is able to print in a 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inch size space, just right for my collectable envelopes. Plays Well with Linux Operating System

I have used this printer for years. When the one I was using stopped working, I immediately went to eBay to find one just like it. It arived in a timely manner to my office and set up was simple. Although this model have several years in the market, still yields good looking impressions, supports modifications like sublimation inks and software modifications. it's robust and durable.
