The temper is just right. Throws hot sparks from a sharp flint, and from a firesteel as well. I haven't used the bowdrill bearing yet, but I'm sure it will work as well as everything else. Best flint striker ever!!

This strikers steel will generate a shower of sparks from any halfway decent piece of flint or chert. I’m not talking about using a “fire steel” or ferrocium rod although it can be used as a scraper on those. I’ve made my own steel strikers out of files, but this ESEE striker is even better. Planned modifications

This is a great product, I plan on making 1 small modification.
