Great on Hard Floors! Short Run Time
I've been through 4 vacs trying to find one that works well picking up sand/dirt from my terrazzo floors here in FL. This is the only one that really worked (with soft roller). It picks up everything. It's very easy and light and hangs on the wall out of the way. My place is about 1500 sq feet all terrazzo and tile. The small canister on it is sufficient for that and empties easily. The battery is the reason I deducted one star. It barely makes it through a complete vacuuming before it just stops. But, the floor has never been as clean.
After a thorough cleaning, I just take it down to touch up room by room as needed so I don't run out of battery.
They make a v7 for slightly more but it doesn't have HEPA filter and the one that does is significantly more. They also get heavier and bigger as the numbers go up, V8, V10, etc but they do have longer battery life. For the price, I don't think you can beat this one if you have hardwood or tile floors. Good quick fix vacuum- works well on dog hair
Bought this to upgrade from a broom in the kitchen because of dog hair but the hard floor attachment isn’t good with bigger items like a small (1in^2 ) scrap of paper or plastic... I need to try it on max for stuff other than dust and hair on the hard floor. This is really good on the carpet with the main head! Catch is small, battery is short: mine is super awkward and messy to empty into the garbage - I have to take the whole stick off to dump it out or it’s really hard to balance cause you need two hand to release the catch and it makes a mess cause of all the dirt/dust. It still beats the broom or dragging out the corded vacuum everyday but I see why they have upgraded (v7-10) in the ways they have! Definitely worth the price I snagged it for. Not too loud either easily vacuum while the baby is sleeping. Vacuumed my entire living room on max in 4.2 minutes so 8 minutes on max is plenty of time if you plan to do your vacuuming throughout the day instead of all at once. This vacuum is a great little tool, and very easy to use. I love not having to drag a cord around, and wind it up after the job is done.
There are some drawbacks though, because the bulk of this unit is right up where the hand, and you only have so long of a tube, you cant reach all the way under things like beds for example, without moving them out of the way. Which may not be possible with a small bedroom.
Also, for cleaning things like inside of cars, Some youtube videos show you that it works well when you fold the seats down. Where it does not work well is cleaning down in the foot wells. it does not work well at all for that. just simply does not fit.
what does work in tight places like the foot well situation is vacuum that sits outside and has a hose you pull inside the small space.
anyways, for guy who is totally lazy and has no control over my budget, this thing is AWESOME! I actually take the time to vacuum my floors now! just yank this thing off the wall and pull the trigger. It moves around effortlessly and the ball design on the floor "motor heads" works great for maneuvering around things.
my house is mostly hard wood floor with some rugs on the entry ways, it does an excellent job picking up everything on the hard floor with the microfiber motor head, and it does a great job of picking everything up off the entry way rug with the carpet motor head.
So in the end, I really like it. and it costs way to much. I also think they should team up with a popular cordless drill company like Dewalt so all the batteries are interchangeable. its a pain in neck trying to finds places for all these different chargers.Read full review...

Great for wood floors.
It is wonderful for wood floors and tile. We recently renovated our house with hardwood floors. I had no idea of how to take care of them without sweeping everyday and crumbs etc getting in the beveled edges. My friend had bought one and loved it. I bought one at a reduced price because the metal tube had a dent in it, which doesn't affect the performance of the machine. I run it every evening before bed. It's amazing how much dirt must have been in our carpets which I usually vacuumed once a week. It works great on steps, so easy and lightweight. Only worry is that I will break the dust cup because it is plastic. I don't allow the kids to use it. They get the dust buster if they need it.Read full review...

Dyson V6 Absolute
We've had our Dyson Absolute for a couple weeks now and really love the convenience of having the ability to clean up the kitchen, laundry and bathroom floors quickly. The softer hardwood floor brush really picks up the smallest of hard sand particles and other larger cereal sized crumbs with no issue. Not sure what some folks have stated on the vacuum not picking up particles in the regular/normal suction mode, but I brought in some salt and sugar particles and sprinkled them in a few areas on our tile as well as smooth wood floors and didn't find a trace of any left on either of the surfaces. I tried the "Max' suction mode and found it works better on the entry areas where you might have some ground in or lodged dirt particles or good on the carpets as well. I also used the Max mode to vacuum out the back of my SUV and ran it over the carpets as well with excellent results...and the beauty of not having to buy filters can't be expressed enough. The Quality, balance and feel of the Dyson in your hands lets you quickly realize you're not holding a cheap knock-off bargain brand cordless cleaner. I used the powered upholstery attachment on our sofa and it did a really good job of picking up the pet hair from our small Yorkie and used the clear wand attachment across our blinds, counters, china hutch, etc. and pulled the dust off without fail. I have a Dyson corded "Animal" Vacuum that I bought several years ago and have been so impressed with it, that I wanted to give the cordless vacuum a try and I'm glad we did. I mounted the Dyson Absolute in our Laundry room near the doorway and close to a power outlet, so it's charged and ready to go whenever needed. I've attached a few pictures of my mounting scheme I thought out a few times before doing the final mounting. The Vacuum bracket is mounted with a couple 3 inch phillips head screws into the wall stud. On the attachments, I used the "Monkey" brand hooks [...] that you can pick up in the local big hardware stores(use the ones rated for 50lbs since they protrude just a little farther out to be able to mount your attachments on). I took a side profile view of one of the hooks so you can see what I'm referring to. I contacted a Dyson Technician and they stated you can leave the unit in the charging mount on your wall indefinitely without worrying about battery decay or overheating, since the battery has a self monitoring feature to only charge when it actually needs it. If I were forced to list some Con's on the unit, the price might be the only thing that comes to mind, but as I've found over the years, if you want something built to last, you must balance cost against the time, technology, design and features of this unitRead full review...

Versatile and Very Effective
This cordless and extremely light vacuum is all you would ever need if your house/apartment is not too large. It's perfect for my 700 sf condo with several medium-sized throw rugs. It picks up dirt and pet hair that my other vacuum won't. In fact, when I got the Dyson, I first vacuumed my entire condo with my existing major brand vacuum that's only 2 years old. Then I vacuumed it all again with the Dyson and nearly filled up the bin with dirt and pet hair missed by my other vacuum. It's also excellent for cleaning out your car, as well as upholstery. The flexible ball makes it possible to clean under very low furniture. The only drawback might be if you have 4 or 5 rooms of thick wall-to-wall carpet. I'm guessing you would require more than one charge to get it all done. That said, it recharges faster than other cordless vacuums I looked at. This one takes about 3.5 hours to recharge, while others can take as much as 15 hours. My only criticism at all is with the instructions for emptying and cleaning the vacuum. They are completely in icons and very difficult to understand. I eventually gave up trying to understand them and just figured it out without the instructions.
