This is a superbly easy tool to use...an almost perfect design....if I were to suggest an improvement, it would be about a 2" extension on the long handles to exert more leverage...us geezers are not as strong as the kids....just a thought.Read full review...

Poor metal too soft
The design of the product is fine. However the metal was so soft that after setting only 3 number 220 traps, the metal bent and was unusable. I bent the metal back in shape a couple of times and it would again bend when I attempted to use it. Fortunately we operate a farm and had some old scrap metal that we used to weld on it to reinforce it. We had to remove the rivet, weld pieces on either side the length of the set tool and replace the rivet with a bolt and a lock nut. After this repair it worked as designed.Read full review...

Good for a younger guy.
Its a good unit and I can see where it has its advantages BUT , For a guy that has bad shoulders ( rotater cuff ) it is not at all practical.It is to short. It is made very well and looks and feels like good quality. I just cant squeeze it down to set the traps.Read full review...

item too small for the force needed to set the 330 traps. Item made of good material but way too short to get the required squeeze to compress the heavy duty springs. Could be better
I don't know how you'd set a Duke trap without one of these, but it's still not easy. It takes quite a lot of strength to close the jaws...two hands for me and then you need to set the safety pins with your other....third hand? I'm going to weld some plates perpendicular onto the handles so they'll be stable on a flat surface. Then I can close the jaws with a knee to have a hand free.Read full review...

Handles are not long enough
This trap setter is good quality steel but I had to add 2 pipe extension handles to set a 220 conibear trap and there is no way it would work on a 330 with out adding an extension to the handles. It would work fine for the smaller traps but they won't work as advertised for the 220 or 330.Read full review...

This tool works great for setting 220 conibear traps. The handles could use something wider and softer for your hands and the tool could use a coat of paint but overall it's a great tool for the price. You can't expect the Cadillac of trap setting tools for a Ford Fiesta price. When it's all said and done, I'm happy with this tool. It does the job and doesn't break the bank.Read full review...
