Another great racer.

Driver 2 is even better than the first. The concept is about the same, but some major additions are there, like the ability to get out of your car and commandere another, new curved roads and on/off ramps, and better cities with more differences than the first game. The new missions include ones where you just get from point A to point B in some short time and it's fun to try to chase a guy without getting close enough for him to spot you, or losing him. The mission where you have to race a train to someone stuck on the railroad tracks and get him out of there is fun, and certainly no easy task. There's even a baseball stadium in Chicago that you can get into if you can figure out how, and a little underground area in Havana that's also hidden. Also, the cops seem to be a little smarter in 2 than they were in the original. And, in this game, there's the ability to unlock hidden cars and mini-tracks. There is some multiplayer in this game with addictive minigames like capture the flag, which you really can't stop playing. You can even drive things like busses, police cars, armored cars, ambulances, limos, SUVs, and pickup trucks. Driver 2 is everything Driver had, and then some, and both games are worth every penny. You don't even have to be a fan of racing games to enjoy them. The game isn't that long, and doesn't have great graphics, but is definitely a great game. To be honest, I had more fun with Driver 1 and 2 than I did with the Tony Hawk series. This is one of the best games you can buy on the PlayStation.

Graphics: (7/10) The graphics aren't any big deal, but cutscenes are great (just like most games). This game sure doesn't look bad, though.

Sound: (8/10) Sound in this game is pretty good, and you can hear the police reporting, and the cops even speak Spanish in Havana, and Portugese in Brazil. Sound effects are good, too.

Gameplay: (9/10) Wow. The car gameplay is great, but it could have been a little more relistic, I guess.

Fun: (9.5/10) It's just fun!

Replay Value: (8/10) You will play this game over and over again. Multiplayer is the best, though. The problem is it's on PlayStation and you can't even use a Multi-Tap, so it's only 2-player. And, you can't get out of the first-person view in multiplayer.Read full review...

Driver 2

A great childhood feels rushed back when I popped it in the old PS1, not much going on here for new players unless you want to challage yourself with what used to be one of my favorite driving games.

The Wheelman 2

Driver 2 is a very great game. I like the movie style action that it has along with the story line putting the player into the experience of a lifetime where undercover detective work is concerned. It also has a number of mini games like 'Take a Ride' where you can get acquainted with the various cities and 'Survival' where you try to take the most battering from the police before the car is written-off.
