It's the Mental Health Bible (so to speak)! A must have.
My professional experience is 15 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor (masters in behavioral studies). I have switched careers and am currently a beaten down physician associate student. Most all of our medicine books are digital and available through the university library for free. I have adapted to some degree, but I will not give up my hand held DSM. This baby is easy to flip through, bounce back and forth in as you quickly assess criteria among disorders. Additionally it hand held size makes it perfect for your white coat or professional bag as you travel site to site. No worries about internet being down at any time you can pull this out! And when you are really bored, read the history of how the DSM has progressed, controversies, etc. It's a valuable tool, but I caution people to not slap diagnoses on people unless truly warranted. Thank you to all of those out there continuing to advocate for mental health awareness, education, services and needs in our communities!Read full review...

DSM
Product came as expected, but poor quality . Spiral bounding, the end are not bend into the sides. They come out and stick everything in my work bag. Poor quality from the spiral binding !!

Great!
People get confused about this book, it's the pocket version NOT the HUGE DSM-V! It's very handy and I would recommend it to anyone, professional and non professional, easy to use, easy to carry around and affordable!Read full review...

Easy to use and very affordable.
This is a well organized little book that's perfect for quick questions or reminders re: diagnostic criterion. It has both a table of contents and an index for ease of use. Well worth the price.

Good small reference
It’s handy to have especially if you are a traveling clinician and need something on the go. Of course the original four version will have a lot more information and details of each diagnosis. This book is not something you want to use full time but just as a “quick” reference.Read full review...
Great companion to the big one
Excellent quick reference highlighting key components of diagnoses and providing the DSM 5/ICD 10 codes. If I need more help with a tricky diagnosis, I use the full book (provided by my employer, thank goodness), but this book is great for routine diagnoses - to remind me of criteria or codes.Read full review...

Great Tool
Book arrived new and unused, packages well. This is a handy book to have all of the information you need but without the bulk.

Small compact version of the DSM
If you need the DSM for class, I highly recommend this version. It’s compact, easier to look through, and not overwhelming with unneeded information.

same basic info, but portable!
I have two offices, so the desk reference makes much more sense than lugging the heavy DSM. Same core information is presented in a very readable format. Highly recommended, especially for people with bad backs!Read full review...
