This unit is a convenient item if you need an additional remote for Directv. However, you must point the remote EXACTLY at the box (unlike their peanut shaped remotes) or it will not react. The additional A/V device setup doesn't work very well. Read full review...

Work very well, but to get them "hook up" to you direct receiver and tv, you must have the old one working to get to the setup page. Instruction do not tell you that.
