I like DeWalt tools - but......

it's a good item and works, but it will never hold up long term and would be a "throw away" on a jobsite. Too much plastic - the main worry will be the blade release which after a period of time will be more brittle than it already seems and will snap off leaving you with no way to lock or remove blades. It's features like that which make other companies like Milwaukee so much more desirable. Read full review...

Quick shipping. Worked great for a minute

Product came very quickly via USPS and upon receiving it I put in a battery and a blade and was really happy. I went outside to cut up some scrap lumber and after a few cuts the saw has quit working. Motor spins but the blade doesn’t reciprocate. Read full review...

would recommend to a friend

bought 6 amp hour battery's to power saw, used saw for about 1.5 hrs clearing brush and small trees . I was worn out from work and according to indicator on battery it still had 50% charge left in it. Saw seems to have as much power as my 120 v saw has. I am well pleased with its performance .Read full review...

Dewalt 20v reciprocating saw

Had to cut some studs to replace under deck . Saw was easy to handle under deck with precise cuts made .recommend stay with dewalt lithium batteries instead of generic ones. They last longer and recharge faster. Read full review...

Powerful little saw.

Has a variable speed depending on trigger pull, and has the ability to go really fast without binding up. What they cost new is kind of expensive but if you can find a deal on a used one you can literally save nearly half the price over a new one. If you are in need of a reciprocating saw and already have the batteries and charging capabilities from other tools I highly recommend this one.Read full review...

Buy DeWalt

DeWalt is the best brand in my opinion. I have always stuck by them and they rarely have problems. Been buying DeWalt since I was in High School, very reliable and excellent value. If you want something that is going to last, buy DeWalt.Read full review...

Good Machine

This is my second. I use them for trimming trees and cutting down small trees. The old one is still operational. I would have expected it to burn out by now. The unit has burned through 3 large batteries and is still cutting.Read full review...

What you would expect from a Dewalt brand saw

Great recip saw which uses the common 20volt DeWalt batteries. Good cutting speed especially with matches with DeWalt blades, in my opinion.

Good quality

It does use batteries a little faster than I would like but it works great and I love it for our major remodel going on now.

Well made, but one gripe-

Only complaint is that the way the variable speed trigger is designed, the first 1/4th trigger movement gives 75% motor speed. I have a Ryobi 18v recip saw and it has the same issue, but to a lesser degree.

My corded Makita trigger gives 1/4th speed at 1/4th and 1/2 speed at 1/2 trigger so it's easier to control and start so the saw doesn't start jumping around.

This is not a complaint about the particular one I purchased, but rather a design decision by DeWalt. The saw is well made and powerful.

The only garden tree pruning saw you need for reachable branches.

Quite powerful. I see no reason to upgrade to a higher than 20 volt model unless you are frequently tackling branch diameters greater than 7 inches. Doing 4-6 inch diameter branches I was able to cut hundreds on a single battery charge. For branches too high to reach I will buy the Dewalt pole saw, and again choose the lighter weight 20 volt model.Read full review...
