Made an impossible connection possible and fast

I have had this device now for 6 months. The only issues I have had are that the microwave interferes with the signal when it is operating. I have had to re-set it several times but the company, d-link, has great technical support and walked me through it. Once you learn how to use the set-up wizard on your computer, something I learned to do from a YouTube video, it is quite easy to set-up. The signal from the provider's router comes through at full speed. I am ordering more for other people now. If someone thinks it does not work it seems more likely that they did not figure out how to use the set-up wizard (it takes being slightly computer savvy) or re-set button correctly. Ignore these reviews as many people are just plain computer illiterate. Read full review...

Could not get to work with Verizon's D-Link DSL-2750B Modem/Router

Apple AirPort would not recognized the D-Link DAP-1320 Extender for the initial set up. I had to use my Galaxy S7 phone to set it up. Once that was done, it showed up in the Mac's wireless networking and I could connect to it. However, the light would not stop blinking amber and could not provide internet via Verizon's D-Link DSL-2750B Modem/Router. D-Link Customer Support, over the phone, was not able to get it to connect to the internet, even after walking through the Wizard twice (once before and once after a complete reset) and upgrading firmware. Verizon Customer Support was not able to offer assistance other than verifying all their gear was in working order and that their device was on Channel 11 and WEP2-AES. I'm sure it works for many, just not for me.Read full review...

Not bad for the price

I've always had good experiences with D-Link products. This one is no exception.

This unit is compact and works pretty well. Range could be a little better but for a small no antenna extender at such a low price works well. I need to get a remote bedroom and my garage stronger WiFii signals. Even though I tried a variety of locations I could not find a good extender location that would do both. But it does work for each in different locations so I need two of these and am buying another.

Pros:
Compact
Decent, easy to use browser interface
Inexpensive

Cons:
Range could be better but is not too bad

A good range extender with a quirky setup

It performed the auto setup flawlessly and has worked well to extend my wireless network. I only rated it a 4-star because it set up with a different network id and password than was listed in the documentation. To get the network credentials you have to go to the web based wireless utility broadcast by the device - in my case dlinkap/index (also listed incorrectly in the documentation) - in the Settings/Extended WiFi tab.. If that doesn't work, you shoulld be able to find the utility listed in the device table of the home router on the 192/168.1.xxx domain.

Once I figured that out it worked fine. So if you don't mind tinkering for a few minutes, it is a good device for the money. An older model, but my wireless router is an older version too, so it works out fine.

It helps over short range

My computer was dropping it's connection about 45 feet from the router. I think a cast iron tub and plumbing interfered with the signal. I had trouble getting the extender to program until I programmed it right next to the router. It finally read the signal and went through the WPS programming. Then, trying varying locations, I was able to to keep my computer from losing Wi-Fi. It only extended the range about 15 feet, but that was enough in my house. So, it does work, but it would not solve problems in a large building. For $10, it is worth a try.Read full review...

Works has described but not an easy setup

I wanted to extend my primary Network in the house to reach downstairs more easily. This has achieved that but doesn't work as nimbly as a mesh network does. This is kind of the cheap way around that problem as long as you're willing to switch between to various SSIDRead full review...

Works well; set up a bit "convoluted"

The instruction book made installation tougher than it had to be. Use the install wizard. If you have any connection problems with it (after it is set-up) I suggest just letting it sit for awhile. The "refresh" button on the side only prolonged the set up (and my frustration) of my third device (and then messed up my other two.) It has worked well for the couple of days I have installed for.Read full review...

Good deal and a low price.

I am using the extender to bring WiFi to the far end of a house (40ft) that gets spotty reception. I had to manually connect my laptop to the D-link and manually configure it to connect to the WiFi. Figuring our all the passwords took an hour. (The D-link password is printed on the top of the unit). After that, my speeds went from 1 Mb/sec to 8 Mb/sec. D link is a name brand and not a Chinese knock off but the price is about the same and the unit is shipped from NJ, not Hong Kong.Read full review...

They work

It's kind of hard to set up you have to have your mobile data off on your phone if you're using your phone like I was and your internet and then go to the website that tells you when the instructions that opens up the actual extender and not a website that's what took me awhile to figure out after that it was fine the signals a little weak sometimes I'm not sure why but sometimes it won't run Netflix in the back room where I have it set up right next to the PlayStation so that's a minus that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 starsRead full review...

Good Value

Small & compact enough to place anywhere. Only problem is that you can't use the wizard to setup if your wireless router is hidden (not transmitting its ID).
