So easy to make ice cream.

Bought May 30th and have made 7 batches of ice cream. Used the basic recipe from the book then tried a custard style ice cream recipe I like better. I found that freezing the bowl for 24 hours makes sure the bowl is frozen solid for first use. We make the recipe than cool it in the fridge or freezer and add to the chilled bowl from the freezer. Takes about 30 minutes to make a nice creamy soft serve and taking the last 10 minutes to add any add in makes for a much better distribution through the whole quart. I just give it a quick wash and towel dry and back in the freezer for the next time. Every recipe has worked and we have made many flavors. Freezing maple walnut right now in an air tight container. for more than two hours . The ice cream never develope

It is compact, easy to operate and clean. YES. I followed the directions that were sent and ran the mixture for more than two hours. The ice cream never developed. Poured the mixture intro a container and froze the mixture. Will try one more time to use this Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker or send it back.Read full review...

Fantastic Ice Cream Maker

Bought this ice cream maker and began making ice cream immediately. The recipes are easy to follow and are very good. It makes sorbet as easy as ice cream. The machine only takes about 25 minutes to turn the mixtures into ice cream. The greatest thing about it is that you choose the ingredients. If you want all organic, then use organic ingredients. You decide what goes in.
The only drawback is the noise the motor/machine makes when you turn it on. It is quite loud and a bit annoying. How ever, the end result is worth waiting through 25 minutes of noise. Overall this is a very good product that delivers what is says. I recommend it to everyone since it is very easy to used.

ice cream maker

This machine works perfect! Be SURE to deep freeze the mixing bowl for 24 hours. Set up machine and turn it on just before you pour the ingredients in. If you set your freezer to a very cold setting there will be no need to freeze the ice cream after it is made. Will be thick/frozen and ready to eat in 15 to 20 minutes.

DO NOT pour the mixture in until the machine is running because it will freeze to the wall and the paddle will break when you turn it on!!!!!!

So glad bought this machine!

No-frills easy to use ice cream maker

This ice cream maker does the job, although you really need a cold freezer and some patience to get the bowl cold enough. If you follow the instructions and plan ahead 2-3 days, you will end up with delicious ice cream after only a brief churn. The motor is slightly loud, but the total churn time has been around 20 minutes so the sound isn't too bothersome. Parts seem sturdy and the manual is clear. I'd recommend it as a dependable addition to your dessert-making stable!Read full review...

Easy to use

The Pure Indulgence 2-qt. freezer is easy to use and clean, however I have found the ice cream or sorbet does not get as firm as I would like. I usually put it in the refrigerator freezer when it is finished to make it more firm.

Loud! It may drive you crazy! lol

Make sure the freezer bowl is level in the freezer and that the freezer is below 10 degrees. The bowl should freeze over night for best results. Make sure your ingredients are REALLY cold and add them immediately. Using syrups (like Hershey) will make it take a lot longer to turn into ice cream - I just use TruMoo chocolate milk with half and half. I use a wooden spoon to scrape down the sides as it turns. You can use kool aid powder to make weird flavors but you need to experiment. A tiny bit can give a lot of flavor.Read full review...

Can't live without it!

I loooooove this! I got one as a gift, and spent a summer making ice cream once a week. Then I gave one to my sister and SHE loves it. Then, a cousin from Mexico was wowed at how easy it was to make great ice cream, and I gave her mine and quickly replaced it! Nothing like homemade ice cream, and guests are always prefer homemade... and they think it's cool!

Love the ease of Pure Indulgence

First week I used it three times! Easy to use, just pour your ice cream mixture in, insert the blade/mixer and turn it on. Love that you do not need to use ice or salt to make ice cream, just a frozen container will do! Stores away easily, even the cord slides into a compartment so no need to wrap around.Read full review...

Perfect for Vegan Ice Cream on Demand

Works really well! I use it to mostly make coconut-milk-based vegan ice cream and it chills the ingredients quickly. Because the churning bucket is so cold, it's a little bit of a challenge to scrape the super-frozen bits off the side right away when it's done churning (but it also keeps the ice cream nice and cool as it is being served or packed up for the freezer), so no big deal. It tastes better than store-bought and is far less expensive per pint, doesn't have any gums of additives, and I can keep all the ingredients for my basic recipe in the pantry ready-to-go (we keep the bucket in the freezer ready-to-go too). It has paid for itself already. My basic vegan vanilla recipe:

1 can coconut cream
1 can coconut milk
2/3 cup maple syrup
1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pulse it in the blender (necessary to mix the vanilla bean scrapings evenly)
Churn in the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker until thick (about 25 minutes)

One variation we really like: Also add 1/4 cup Kahlua liquor and a 1/4 unsweetened coco powder. Mix in nuts after it is done churning.
