Cuisinart burr mill grinder

There are some pluses and minuses to this grinder first let me go over the minuses. The grinder powders some of the grind even on medium. Although I don't want to make it to course, I think that it could do better with a more consistent grind instead of creating a lot of powder that it does on medium. This also causes an issue with the reservoir that it goes into. it cakes on the inside and is hard to get out and requires you to use that little brush. That's really a hassle, and to get it out of the reservoir and into the filter of the coffee pot is another tricky deal. I have found that I have to take my number 4 cone filter and put around the top of the reservoir over all 4 corners (and it just fits) and turn it upside down and rap on it to get the coffee out of it before putting it into the plastic holder and back into the coffee pot before I can brew a cup of coffee. It won't just pour out easily as it cake and binds up inside and will end up spilling outside of the cone filter and getting inside the plastic part of your coffee pot if you don't do it this way. It also tends to blow some loose crumbs around the hole that it goes into the reservoir down onto the base of the unit which require some additional cleaning and it also sticks to the lid pretty bad. The reservoir is also very hard to align perfectly to get it to slide back into place on the unit as it does not have an adequate guide to make it smooth to return to its proper position to grind more coffee, even if you feel you have it perfectly straight. I usually have to take about 4-5 tries to get it back in position. Now on the pluses side of this unit. It does make a perfectly good pot of coffee with my 14 cup coffee maker on the 14 cup setting to grind a pot of coffee. The Auto Stop feature is an excellent plus and the bean Hopper I've discovered will hold an entire 12 oz bag of beans with just enough room to get the lid comfortably back on. It is designed well as far as how much space the unit takes up and does have a good appearance and it is very easy to adjust the desired grind by turning the hopper to the desired grind you require. I only brew up my regular Joe so I can't comment as to the expresso required French Press type of grind as I don't use this process. I do feel it would be great for that since it does grind the medium grind up very fine. For its price point and overall workability it is in my opinion a well recommended buy. Also on the negative side don't press the start button to grind up coffee unless everyone's awake or you're going to wake everyone in the entire house. it is very loud!Read full review...

So far, it does perform to satisfaction.

Just got it within a month, so I don't really have much "opinion" so far. Other than it does perform ok. The finer grind setting does seem to clog, and the plastic collection container has the "electro-static" charge issue, where the finer grinds stick to the sides. I place the grounds in a resealable glass container for storage. Read full review...

Great grinder! I recommend this

Great grinder! I have a small grinder I bought many years ago and I wanted one with more capacity, to grind the coffee in a shorter time than my small one. Easy to use. Only thing, its noisy. Other than that no complaints! You can take the hopper(that holds the beans) off and then clean the grinder real good.
There are many settings and found I had to adjust almost from fine to somewhat course grind. The fine grind is almost like a powder, which I did not want. So just kept adjusting until I felt the right type of grind.

Powerful grinder which makes excellent coffee grinds!

This product was purchased to complement the new Cuisinart coffee maker/hot water heater we also purchased. Set-up was very easy and the directions for operation were very clear! The settings indicator is easy to adjust as is cleaning the unit. Its operation was very effective in grounding the beans to the perfect consistency needed to make the ideal pot of coffee for my wife and I! It is loud (not too many grinders aren't) but demonstrated its motor had the power, and the blades were very strong, to ensure consistent grinding.

In all, we have been very pleased with Cuisinart products and this fine addition to our collection proudly sits next to our coffee maker and we anticipate many years of reliable service.

We also registered the product with Cuisinart to activate the warranty should it ever require repair.

In all, great product, OEM warranty and great coffee! Highly recommended!

Fantastic Coffee Grinder

We purchased this as replacement for one we've had for more than 10 years ago. We used it daily and it only recently started acting up; would get jammed and not run automatically. The new one once again grinds superbly at the various type grinds from extra fine to course. I highly recommend this coffee grinder.Read full review...

Good Product, But...

This coffee grinder grinds the amount you want to the coarseness level you want, with multiple settings for each variable. Very good price and strong reviews, which pulled me into ordering it. It is a bit noisy for the first thing in the morning, and it's hard to get out all the ground coffee from the container without spilling it. Even when I try to clean out the freshly-ground coffee in the kitchen sink, I still manage to get it on the counter and me as well! Need to work on that...or maybe it's the french roast beans I use, which are very oily and stick to everything?Read full review...

A great grinder

We’ve had one of these for yearand it has performed well. The bean basket broke and so I bought anonother complete grinder and will get a new bean basket for the old one and keep it in reserve.
r>It is a great grinder and grinds all the types of texture from very fine to coarse. It is easy to clean and can hold the ground coffee until it is used. All-in-all, I would recommend this grinder to my friends. Read full review...

This is a workhorse, and makes great expresso and ground coffee!

This is our third, a new replacement. I've read the reviews and most people who review don't seem to use their grinder like we do? Many folks grind for each cup or pot? We just grind 8-10 cups worth at a time and normally use about a double expresso for each cup we fix. We never try to clean it up after every use! OMG! It's just coffee... We DO love the fresh grind taste, even if the beans may not be the freshest.

This is a nice grinder. I buy the inexpensive add-on insurance. The first grinder we had, I just burned out the motor in one sitting by grinding about 1/2 pound of beans in one sitting. Since then, I'm much more careful, but the add-on policy is safety against fear of wrecking it. And this price is WAY cheaper than an full-on heavy duty burr grinder.

I use the grinder, but I'm not married to it. Dependable, fast coffee and it let's us brew expresso/Americano every morning.

Sometimes too many options isn't so convenient... haha

It was a great deal. I'm still trying to figure out what grind I like. Selected fine grounds and adjusting the cup volume doesn't seem to change it per the suggestions found online.

Looks nice but challenged to work well

This grinder is very nice, but it does seem to take a long time to work on my beans for 8 cups of whole bean coffee. It also seems to hang up during the grind and have to be re started more than once. The grinder is beautiful and does look great on the counter. Read full review...
